I remember being in the pub years ago and we were having great night. later some birds came in and invited us to a party. All my mates were well up for it.

I said "I am not going"
    My Mates "Why?"
Reply "boxing there is a big fight on TV and I do not trust the video"
    My mates "Whose fighting?"
Reply "This guy called Johnny Nelson - He is going to be brilliant"

My mates had a great night and most got their wicked way.

The fight was against Carlos De Leon - You all know how my night was!!!

Yeah, thanks for dredging that one up, I've been trying to purge my brain of the memory of that "fight".

Even although almost no punches were thrown for the whole fight, I remember it like it was yesterday. It was so boring I started to punch myself at one point.

A few years later I refused to get the PPV for Tyson v Holyfield I because I thought it would be a Tyson mismatch - GUTTED

However I did get PPV for Holyfield v Tyson II - yes GUTTED

As was I. I had £50 on a draw at 50 to 1. I pretty much knew I wasn't going to win, but that really pissed me off.

    Lewis - Holyfield I

For about 1-2 hours my posture consisted of either hands on head or arms out saying 'How???'

Same here. the common consensus was that Hoko would wear him down and finish it late. Friggin' hell the first Vargas punch of the fight nearly took his head off! Brick wall that night Vargas, one of them horrible pit of the stomach feelings as it unfolded.

McGuigan Cruz fighting on the surface of the sun was another for me. Vargas was just better, Cruz wasn't. That narked me.
