Than I think the system should be more hated than them. I know it's not about who invented the gun but who shoots it, but still: it's the promoters that give them those contracts.
TBH i reckon if Khan was white and went on the way he did he would be hated to! Degale is getting it aswell. theses are young lads who have just been handed a rake load of money without really earning it . Look at Darren Sutherland he could have signed a big money deal with any of the UK promotors or even some in the US but he opted for the deal that was right him even if it ment getting less money. that has more to do with it than anything else IMO
Amazingly Khan ran over a certain Mr Hatton! From The Bolton News - Amir Khan to give evidence 5:20pm Thursday 18th October 2007 By Edward Chadwick ยป BOXER Amir Khan will is tomorrow expected to give evidence at his trial for knocking down a pedestrian in his high-powered sports car. The 20-year-old denies dangerous driving after running into Geoffrey Hatton in Bradshawgate in March 2006 while he was driving his BMW 630i. Witness Mark Greenhalgh today told a jury at Bolton Crown Court how he saw Khan travelling along the road "far too quickly". Mr Greenhalgh said he was walking along the road when Khan "swerved" past two stationary cars, which had stopped at a red light at the junction of Great Moor Street, and into the right-hand lane before accelerating through the red light. The witness said his attention was drawn towards Khan's silver sportscar because of the noise it made as it drove past him. He estimated the speed at 40mph as it travelled southbound along the road, but at 50mph as it approached the lights. "The vehicle appeared to accelerate," said Mr Greenhalgh. "It lurched forward, which gave me the impression it was under hard acceleration." Recalling the crash, he said: "Once it had passed the two vehicles that were stationary, it then moved back into the left hand side of the carriageway and the vehicle then appeared to brake heavily. "I then saw it collide with a pedestrian who was towards the left hand side of carriageway. I saw two feet and lower legs appear above the car." Mr Hatton, aged 56, was walking to the pub with his friend Bernard Aspinall at 4.40pm on March 2 last year when he was hit by the car on a pelican crossing. He told the jury that he did not know whether the crossing had indicated that it was safe to cross. Mr Hatton suffered a broken leg.
That's subjective at this point but one thing is for sure Hatton has a much better reputation in the UK than Khan at this point so any support he has garnered is justifiable. I am behind Ricky 100% but like Manny as well despite his money grubbing, contract stalling and terrible Scottish accent... ;-)
No. Haye is constantly talking about how he would likely be 'knocked spark out' should a heavyweight punch properly connect and reckons this is what makes his fights explosive and exciting to watch. He's right too.
Actually I wouldn't be surprised if his heart did give in. He looked dangerously close to needing resuscitation at the end of that fight. CLEAR....beep, beep!
LOL this guy is a absolute joke. You must either be very ignorant or just uneducated to be unable to tell the difference between confidence and arrogance..can you elaborate on when you say he's arrogant? In regards to his life outside the ring..cmon give the kid a break..he's young kid in a mentioned before a high powered car..and he's made mistakes. Open your eyes and visit the world outisde you fantasy world..what Amir has done, is nothing and i mean literally nothing compared to what goes on in the average young lads lives. But because it's "Amir Khan"..a role model for many people..he's expected to be perfect and make no mistakes. He's a boxer not an angel..if you want to talk about his life outside the ring..why don't you talk about his charity work? all the money he's donated to charity? gym he's opened to get kids of the streets? etc etc..instead of being a ***** and crying over his unfortunate events.
It's his partyline. He was saying it frequently during the Wlad/Vitali negotiations before Adam Booth and Haye disappeared off the face off the earth that is...
Did you really 'laugh out loud'? How strange. I said he was arrogant in a past tense. No need for me to elaborate as by the tone of your own post I would be surprised if arrogance wasn't somehow the norm to you. This is a tired issue now but there are plenty of people who give to charity, do work to improve their local communities and even open boxing gyms without requiring acknowledgment or, God forbid, running innocent people over in the street. Giving to good causes does not make you immune to criticism especially as most of the giving is initiated for public relations or marketing purposes by a management team - not saying that is the case for Khan, it's just a generalisation as was your statement about average lads being borderline career criminals. Anyway, you are preaching to the choir. Go and spread your gospel to the people that booed Khan at today's weigh in whilst I other well rounded members of society sat quietly at home watching intently and looking forward to tomorrow's fight.
