Is it me or does the guy lack power for a person of his size ? Dont really know too much about this guy, what was his amateur record like and hows his chin ?
It does seem to be the case, he was noted as a big puncher in the amateurs though, I think once he finds his range and distance with those long arms he will settle a little bit better and his power will start to show.
Good amateur record and has a decent chin by all accounts. I too think he lacks a bit of power but he's only a nipper so should improve that with age. He looks like he needs a good weight programme to accompany his training
I think getting on a serious training/conditioning programme would do him the world of good. Being a heavyweight he has the luxary of not having to make weight so if he lost the fat and got some muscle on the arms/chest/shoulders he could have that extra power in his shots. Seems to have the speed though which is good in this heavyweight climate.
Well he seems to have confidence in his chin judging by his Hamed impression. Or then again it could be he was fighting a big fat bald Russian bloke that looked more like a Walrus than a professional boxer. He's not a one punch KO artist, no. Could hold him back at the highest level.
He doesn't punch properly I've noticed. He puts his arms into everything but theres no transfer of body weight. Unless he improves that he'll always be an accumulation guy.
i was the first to start knocking Tyson because he can be gobby, but i just watched him stop Lee Swaby in his most recent win, and i saw some sparks that impressed me for the first time, he dug deep and bit down on his mouth piece and put some very fast combinations together and showed a marked improvement .. i look forward to seeing more of him if he improves at this rate.. Very impressed at his speed and fluid moves tonight...
Swaby was his first real test (albeit it a minor one). He looked ok, clearly still developing but his defence needs tightening up. Less flabby this time round so it appears he's getting fitter. Needs to continue to build muscle though. Would like to see him against Fraudley (for a laugh) or maybe Danny Williams (for a challange).
He's got plenty of time,they need to take that time and let him develop properly.He's not fully matured and still looks like a kid in a way,a bloody big kid mind you.In a way he reminds me of a young Conney.
