Haye fought Maccarinelli due to massive public demand in Britain and obviously felt he had 1 last bit of buisness to finish to complete his job in the Cruiserweight division, also making good money from this massive british fight.

    Whats wrong with that?

If people class this as ducking Hasim Rahman then their pretty ****ing stupid :nut

A W over Rahman wouldn't have meant ****.A win over Barrett means just as much, which is not alot really. You people just say that a win over Rahman would have been better because Wladimir just happens to have fought and beat Rahman recently.Rahman never was that good when Lewis beat him all those years back.He also quit on his stool prior to the Wladimir fight and the latest rumour is that he is now looking at MMA.How is that a credible fight to take??:huh
Why are you disappointed with Hayes actions??He has two fights and 2 KO wins albeit against below par opposition.

    I dont agree with you.

I hope that Haye signs the fight with Wlad, that will clarify a lot of things. If he does not sign,he should fight James Toney or a Top Ten contender next.

At this time I have to agree... other then talk and 1 fight in almost a year, since he said he was moving up, what has Haye really done except Talk talk talk:huh... While the potential seems good... he so far has not brought ANYTHING other than TALK to the HW division. If he puts pen to paper and fights Wlad that might chamge, but as of now 1 fight against Barrett in a year doesnt mean jack ****

    The CHEF is right again.

I really regret that all this talk fom the Haye fans is not very objective.

Claiming that Rahman equals Barett and that Haye has been added value to the heavyweight division has to be dismissed.

Haye has until 21 March to sign the contract, the clock is ticking. Hopefully he will make the right decision. If he does not, please don't make excuses afterwards.

Why do you have it in your mind that Rahman is a credible opponent. You shouldn't think anymore of Haye if he'd have fought Rahman rather than Barrett.Typical spin bull**** put onto things by Klitschko fans.Klitschko beats Rahman and suddenly Rahman is the best thing since toffee??:nut:nut

What gets me is the 'Need' to prove himself at heavyweight. Unifying the Cruiserweight division isn't enough...

Michael Spinks - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Champion gets a title shot 1st time.
Roy Jones Jr - Undisputed Light Heavyweight Champion gets a title shot first time.
David Haye - Undisputed Cruiserweight Champion - prove yourself son:huh

I am not a Klitschko fans and in almost every fight I am rooting against them. If Haye fights Wlad, I may be rooting for Haye.

    Here are a few reasons

    - Rahman has a better record than Barett and is a former 2-time world champ

    - Barett lost every meaningful fight in his career. He lost to lesser fighters like Cliff Couser.Rahman only lost to name fighters

    - Rahman won every round against Barett a few years back

-Rahman is more dangerous because he has bigger power than Barett.

    - Barett was out of prime and was never a Top contender even in his prime.

Again, I do not want to argue or expect an answer.

    1. Spinks and Jones were already ATG. Spinks was probably the best light heavyweight ever and made multiple defenses against Top fighters. Jones was long time pound for pound king. Haye is not even known outside the UK. You can't compare haye to spinks and jones.

    2. Haye was never undisputed champ because he never won the IBF title.

I don't believe you when you say you root against Klitschko. If you're going to root for Haye in this fight, why do you slate him badly??

Are you suggesting Rahman is now prime??(anything to do with the fact that Klitschko was his last fight??)Rahman is well past prime also and a W over himn now means very little the same as a W over Barrett.Little or no difference

Barett is no much worse than Rahman at this point in their respective careers, less than 2 years ago Zuri Lawrence had him rocked, and he went life and death with Sam Peter kncokout victim Tarus Sykes. I dont think either man is any good anymore, their on pretty much the same level as each other any more.

I just hope Haye takes on Wlad, it's the fight the Heavyweight division desperately needs to revive it a bit, from it's dying state of affairs.

This has been covered but if Haye wasn't undisputed, who was disputing his crown?Common sense should prevail and see that Cunningham winning winning a vacant IBF belt isn't dusputing anything.
