I do not complain he is getting a shot at Wlad. The Haye - Wlad matchup is good for the division.I complain he is not signing the contract. IMO, it would have been better for Haye to fight a couple of contenders, that would have improved his chances.
AGREED. I would have picked Haye also... but IMO, Rahman was to dangerous for team Haye at that time because they didnt want to take a chance of losing the fight which would lose a fight and BIG payday with Wlad
Not you aswell.I love a coincidence(Wlad just beating Rahman in Dec) But really,Rahman is a better name to have on the record but if Haye beat Rahman instead of Barrett we wouldn't be sat here heaping praise on Haye for that victory.Thats my point, neither W means anything in the grand scheme of things
I didn't single you out and say and did say people.A broader term:good Fair enough I'd like him to sign aswell and I agree,I'd like him to fight a couple of contenders...a couple of Peter,Arreola,Dimi. There are others aswell.
i have not read up on what is holding up negotiations . i presume haye having to give away many options on his next fights, if this is the case , he has prior, warren did this with macranelli and haye refused and wanted a one off fight which he eventually got. if it is a straight rematch clause then i see this as fine on wlad`s part.
I didnt say **** about Rahman-Wlad... dont try and put words in my mouth:-( I was saying.. Haye talked a lot of ****... I will beat all the bums, I will clean out the division... Haye had almost every top 10-15 HW calling him out and Haye picks Barrett Rahman, a former champ and a guy who KO'd LL would have been much more of a challenge for Haye's first fight back at HW and you know it... but whats done is done...just dont make barrett out to be some huge threat or challenge that Haye had to over come...:yep:good
Chef I know you guys must realise this but the heavyweight division needs this. Wlad and Vitali were born in the wrong bloody era, I'd love to see these guys peaked in the 90's. Look who they had to mix it up with, Tucker, Mercer, Holyfield, Bowe, Tyson, Lewis. Right now they've got Dimitrenko, Povetkin, Chagaev, Valuev. IMO Wlad and Vitali beat these guys, don't get me wrong these guys are good but do they compare to the class of the 90's guys? I don't think so. As for the mouth part no, I really wish Haye would shut the hell up sometimes. In little outbursts I can handle it but not 24/7. Just out of curiosity Chef whats your opinion of Hayes negotiating skills?Playing hardball, nieve, ducking?
NOT ducking at all... I thinks it a combo of Booth being very inexperienced with a fight of this size and Haye with a HUGE ego and unrealistic expectations. Im not saying everything is his fault... but he acts like a rockstar and he needs to come down to earth alittle. makes wonder if he is just looking for the best deal possible becuase he knows this could be his last?:huh For a guy who has talked as much as he has, and with the rematch clause issue seemingly to be settled, you would think he would jump at the contract and let his fists lead hiom to more paydays... just my thoughts:good
Its not Hayes fault JD Chapman didn't show for a presser I did say that a win over Barrett doesn't mean anything(in the post you replied to).I don't defend the Barrett fight.I want Haye to fight top 10/15 fighters and legit contenders as much as anyone does.If it were down to me,Haye would stay active and fight/beat guys like Arreola,Peter,Dimitrenko,Povetkin.2,maybe 3 fights against them types of names(guys who are past/potential opponents for Wladimir)Then people can't say Haye has to prove himself as a HW and that all he has done has run his mouth off and disrespected guys etc. This fight could then happen some time in 2010. BUT,I do believe Haye is worried that Wladimir could be beaten by a 'bum' between now and then if the above were to happen and take the $$ from under his nose
I've got to be honest here, and I'm one of the biggest LL fans you'll find, I think they'd be up there, especially Vitali. Wlad I've always thought of as good, Vitali I've always ranked better even though Wlad ahead right now. I'd take those two guys as title holders over Michael Moorer, George Foreman, Tommy Morrison, Frank Bruno anyday. The 24/7 comment is more in regards to everytime we read something he's banging on, everytime he's on the TV it's me me me. I know it's self promotion but guys like him and Froch could take a lesson in humbleness out of Khans book.
For all the bravado and the we will fight anywhere at anytime talk, Haye and the obnoxious Adam Booth seem to have realised that Wlad isnt and never has been afraid of the so called Haye Matrix and their plan to goad him backfired. I hope the fight comes off so Wlad can retire the motormouth. And for the guy who said its the Wlad fans who are the vocal ones you need a reality check, its the Haye nuthuggers who are continuously saying he would beat A and B yet he hasnt even faced a legitimate top 15 heavyweight.
