yep impressive by bute/saw oppurtunities for counters/stood his ground, slipped shots and fired back hard and then started to plant his feet as he got zuniga`s timing and closed the show very impressivley. bute got top marks from me from that performance and should have suitably impressed everyone else with his abilty.
Awesome show by Bute. Wonder what the haters are gonna say now?Sure hurts to see him victorious in this manner I bet.
For what it's worth, I thought Zuniga looked poor. No speed, no nothing. Some good shots to the body, but not a very good fighter. The fact that he's a MW didn't help either. He needs to move down again. I liked the way Bute moved his head...he hadn't done much of that in the past. He had trained for it, and all us fans were expecting some headmovement, but given how slow and wide and predictable Zuniga was,...you get the drift. Bute used the jab well and did what he's always done. Nice, sharp 1-2s.....hurt Zuniga...didn't even have time to get into the fight when he found some nice uppercuts to the body and it was over. This is the kind of performance Bute was putting together before Tatevosyan...but, not quite at this level. Wasn't a test for Bute at all. Size matters... Bute needs to step up in class. Andrade next? Let's hope so. (Nice to see him in the audience...he wasn't going to come, but changed his mind! Nice smile as usual. Great guy, just like Bute.
Aye...very good performance against a C+/B- (??) level MW. How the hell did Inkin have a close fight with a Zuniga who flew over the ocean at at 2 weeks notice, I cannot understand.:huh
Inkin was just a tad faster than Zuniga...which says a lot, I guess...:huh He's also not as big and tall as Bute...
He's too robotic.Fights at a single phase and if you get him out of it he doesn't know what to do.That's how Balzsay beat him. That's how Kessler lost to Calzaghe.

So...0 people picked the right result...out of 97. huki was laughing at those who picked Bute to win rounds 5-8, suggesting it was unrealistic. I guess they knew more about Bute and Zuniga than the rest of us!:good So...here are the posters who got it more right than anyone else: This content is protected Here are the posters who knew the score: This content is protected Here are the posters who picked the right fighter: This content is protected Here are the posters who picked the right fighter, but need to see the glass half full from now on: This content is protected Here are the posters who...well...how can I put this nicely??? Bute is more fluid.Well at least that's how I see it anyway. This just shows the difference between Bute and Inkin and Balzsay.
handspeed and movement will 9/10 beat a zuniga type fighter. where it does not is where the zuniga type fighter walks through anything and everything and just throws and throws and throws breaking the more talented fighters heart. when bute landed that early uppercut , zuniga effectively backed off , his punches deliberatley thrown out of range so he would not be there in the firing line and the fight then was over as a contest and bute new it and jumped on him much more from that time.
Nobody thought it would be as dominant of a mismatch as it was, as evidenced by the poll results. Zuniga has a history of keeping things close for at least half a fight with top level fighters. This fight definitely improved my view of Bute, and at this point I'd pick him to take Kessler. Count me in as a member of the Lucian Bute fan club.
Zuniga was awful I have to say. I watched the whole card and in the all the changing room shots, he looked like he wasn't up for it. His ring entrance was more like someone walking round the track in the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Nothing away from Bute though. He simply outclassed him and the haters need to chill out.
