There are a quite a few Boxing fans and experts out there that continue to say that the Heavyweight Division is void of Talent. But I beg to differ I look at some of the Division's already established champions and contenders and feel that once the next decade starts that it's Heavyweight class could be just as good if not even better than the class of the 1990's. I know that the 1990's wasn't the 1970's but it wasn't all that bad. I'll list the fighters who I think can become stars in the Division and also list the big names of the 1990's and let you guys draw your own comparisons.

    2010's 1990's

    Wladimir Klitschko Mike Tyson
    Ruslan Chagaev Evander Hoylifield
    Alexander Povetkin Riddick Bowe
    Alexander Dimitrenko Lennox Lewis
    Denis Boytsov George Foreman
    Odlanier Solis Larry Holmes
    David Haye Michael Moorer
    Chris Arreola Ray Mercer
    Eddie chambers Tommy Morrison
Chazz Witherspoon - although he lost to Arreola badly still has
Johnnie White Talent and could win a title in the future.
    Travis kauffman
    Kevin Johnson
Sam Peter - is still unser 30 and if he ever gets in better shape could still be a force.

This didn't work out the way I wanted it to..I tried putting the 2010's and 1990's side by side with space in between them of course but when I submitted my post it just crunched everything together. I'll try doing it over later today when I have time.

What do you think most Fight fans would say about the 1990's compared to the 1970's..my guess pretty much the same you guys are saying about the next decades fighters against the 1990's.

Everybody has their own preference of what style of heavys they like. Personally I like the 90's but I also like the 2000's cuz I love the technical fighting of the Klitschko's.

The 1990's had as much heavyweight talent as ANY era in heavyweight history, with the possible exception of the mid 1960-'s to mid 1970's

The 90's is clearly better. By placing the names side by side, you simply highlighted that fact.

Agreed. Though as someone else said, who knows what the next decade will bring. Fingers crossed Haye gets a lucky win over Wlad (if the fight even goes ahead:roll:) and some new fighters get up there and improve.

    I also hope Valuev disappears!
