Andrade is one...not only is he not a boxing fan and never willingly watches any fights, but he doesn't even like boxing/fighting. He only does it because he's good at it, he says. He hates sparring and considers it a waste of time, for example. He says: either I fight and give my all, or I mess about, and messing about seems pointless... Andrade only has one gear - full out! When asked what he wanted to do if he could do anything, he said he wanted to be a poet. He loves Pablo Neruda, for example. He regrets the fact he wasn't disciplined enough at school to give himself a chance to be a poet. Andrade...the reluctant warrior would-be poet. http://www2.canoe.com/sports/nouvelles/archives/2009/03/20090313-085000.html Anyone else?
Chris Eubank..... Never cared that much for boxing, to him it was a way to make money.... Don't get me wrong he was very thankful for his fans and what boxing gave him.... he just didn't like the sport and all the ppl in it promoters etc...
There must be loads of names out there...very poor boys, from very poor countries, who only took up fighting because it was a means to enter some kind of government sports programme which would ensure their survival, or who turned towards fighting to make a little bit of money, when nothing else was available...but I guess, few of them talk about it... Miranda? Does he actually like boxing??:think
He say's he didn't know the other people who held the IBF & WBA titles after he was stripped of them. I think i even remember hearing he prefered watching soap operas to watching boxing :rofl
:think Sturm seems the kind of guy who's only after the money. Maybe a few of the former top amateurs from Eastern Europe too...
Valuev is turning to acting now: Valuev's first role in a movie was a cameo appearance in the German film 7 Zwerge Der Wald ist nicht genug in 2006. In 2008 Valuev played the main role in the film Stonehead by Philip Yankovskiy, playing an ex-boxer who lost his memory. That film took the main prize at the movie festival "Window to Europe". After the success of Stonehead, it was announced Valuev is being filmed in two new films at the same time.
kermit cintron looks like he doesnt like fighting...judging from his behaviour at the martinez fight i think he wants to be a backing dancer for britney spears
Sturm actually is a boxing freak - he said sometime ago that he has a big DVD libary of current and classic fights and he likes to talk alot about different styles and boxing history...
