Jeff Lacy retired for a day and a half because he hates the people in boxing. I think Jeff has lost his passion all together
Sugar ray Leonard - I dont think he liked boxing that much in his younger days. As he got older it seemed he missed the glitz and the glammer, but in his early days it seems he would have been quite comfortable walking away if he made enough cash.
I don't know why but it kinda rubs me the wrong way when good fighters don't have enough appreciation/ respect for the sweet science to know the history and current on goings in the sport that pays their bills. I've always been a Taylor and Andrade fan but after hearing this I'm really disapointed. With such a storied history and so many amazing fighters that have graced this fine sport I find it almost insulting that a top level boxer isn't a boxing history buff that follows boxing closely to this day.
reminds me of ricky henderson, the baseball player..he wouldnt even know the guys name on his own team! he would say, " you know, the 3 rd baseman"
Him and Calzaghe towards the end were fed up with boxing and couldnt wait to "retire". But im guessing when they started they did like it.
