He couldn't beat a severely drained and exhausted Arthur Abraham. I don't think Simon is very good at all.

Honestly, I do. I think Arthur looked awful tonight. The weight is obviously getting to him. Look at Simon's record. He hasn't beaten anyone, or even fought anyone in the top 50. All Simon showed tonight was a chin. And that he was active. Let me ask you this, do you think Simon beats Rubio?

Arriba I did not say very good, but he will give anyone from 6 to 15 a good fight and probably win some.

You rattle off the names Kessler and Pavlik in the same breath as if they were in the same general league.:rofl

Which is probably true...which in turn shows how empty this MW division truly is.

I agree he looked pretty bad, in the 10th round he thought, "ah screw this i have already won the fight the guy can't hurt me, i can cover up for this round loose it and think about what i am going to do after the fight... that's sure to waist 3 minutes."

Honestly, I think it is a 50/50 fight. Simons chin lasts against what rubio will throw at him, his defense seems average and he does have some pop. Rubio is fairly easy to hit, even though he was in defensive mode against pavlik. I would probably predict a split decision going to rubios favor.

    So true.

Any more than Hopkins' was .

Thing is, this is all academic unless Kelly stops ducking around and takes the fight.

Who knows? Maybe they will make that fight. I will admit, it will be interesting to follow Simon's career. I guess I'm just disappointed with the way AA looked tonight. And because of that, I don't think much of Simon.

Like I said in another post, the guy he fought tonight has officially fought at middleweight three times... Most of his fights have been at super middle and light heavy so if he was able to make weight, then Arthur who's short, should have no problem doing so as well...

He just fought somebody that could match him, size-wise.... and happen to have a good chin.... So I'm looking forward to a AA/Pavlik showdown.... Pavlik has a decent chin but he's prone to getting hurt and/or dropped early in fights.. And AA's best wins have come in 4 rounds (except the Gevor fight..).. The Darnell Boone fight was years ago....

Co-Sign! Not only would those fighters beat Abraham badly but I would even say Paul Williams and Winky would beat him. Abraham always sits his ass on the ropes. JT did it against Pavlik and was stopped. Pavlik might end AA's career doing that.

Abraham constantly going to the ropes or a corner, along with Pav's height and reach advantages are among the main reasons I have ALWAYS picked KP to beat Arthur badly. I've said it before, and I'll say it many more times I'm sure: The ropes is where Pavlik's victims go to die! Look at the two guys who gave Pavlik hell. In the rematch Taylor let his back touch the ropes ONCE in 12 rounds. Hopkins barely touched the ropes. And both those fights were over 160. At middleweight two guys lasted more than 8 rounds with Kelly, and they both quit on their stools after the ninth. Abraham will suffer the same fate as every other short power puncher who fought KP, but his habit of going to the ropes makes it unlikely that he will be as competetive as Miranda (Edison won one round.)

As far as Winky/Williams is concerend I think we are on opposite sides of that debate. Your picking Paul aren't you? I will tell you this: Any version of Winky that can beat Williams is a long, long way from shot. If Winky wins that, he's the #2 middleweight in the world, and a far more important fight and bigger challenge than Abraham.

AA wins a wide UD against an unbeaten, unknown middleweight and is called a bum

Pavlik is fighting against useless lightmiddles for his next 2 fights and is still allowed to live off his Taylor wins

    Go figure
