In terms of Historical Significance, What is the Biggest Lost of De La Hoya?

I had to think carefully about this one but in the end voted Mosley. The reason for this is that history will always be critical of the Trinidad fight. But Mosley was the first to truly beat Hoya. Even Hoya considered it his first real loss and Hoya was on top of his game.

 

The Pac fight without question, its the only fight that there was 0 excuse for losing.

This fight will/has done MASSIVE damage to his in ring legacy & to be honest.... so it should.

Its inexcusable losing to a man so much smaller.

 

Yes.. we know... but thats the point.

What sort of experienced fighter would either A. Get his prep so wrong that he loses to a man so much smaller or B. Dont give a **** about his prep enough to train to be at his best deliberately but still take the pay check.

DLHs lecacy DESERVES to be black marked for the simple reason that losing to a former fly-weight is just down right embarassing.

Either take the fight & win as your supposed to or stay at home.... there is no middle ground.. well, there is & we seen it I suppose.

 

The Pac fight is an irrelevance in both fighters legacies.
The PFP1 beats a washed up part time walking skeleton.Meaningless.

 

the trinidad loss, followed closey by SMM-DLH I. the trinidad fight was suppose to the fight of the millenuim. the modern day hearns-leonard. adn even though he should have won, people will always remember him funning in the last rds instead of finishing the job. then the mosley fight is where he clearly beaten in his prime. these two losses are the most dammaging losses on his resume.

Financially yes,but in terms of history,no.
Madonna has sold millions of records but i dont consider her musically significant,just culturally significant to plebs.
Gullibility en masse does not equate significance to me.
BTW,people who bought the fight didnt know Oscar would look and fight like he had just returned from a labour camp.
