MAB-Khan should have been No-Decision.

Maybe Barrera's corner were banking on Barrera landing a one punch KO given Khan's weak jaw reputation. Unfortunately, they got beaten to it by the stoppage.

i was ****ing furious, jorges ass would be out the door if i were marco. brother or not. i was screaming at my screen for those bozos to stop it. what if marco got seriously hurt in there? he couldnt see out of his left eye and was squinting immediatley after the butt thru out the end of the fight. goddamn ****ing ******s.

 

I couldn't believe it either. I was watching the screen watching the blood pump out asking myself what the hell are they thinking? I mean there's pride then there's stupidity, they were the latter. Sure some blame the ref/doctor but for me the largest % of blame rest with his own corner.

 

it looked like the first time barrera was saying he couldn't see I could be wrong but he was signaling to his eye and shrugging his shoulders, so I thought it was gonna get stopped right then

 

i am a fight fan and i never want to see a fighter get hurt. i am partial because i do consider myself a fan of marco. tonight was basic kindergarden boxing know how that somehow got ****ed up.

You are 100% correct. All concerned dropped the ball with this one. Should have been declared a NC immediately. Not only the impairment of vision but the sustained blood loss weakens a fighter.

 

if not for jmm nacho would have many other fighters/jobs on his hands. cant say the same about jorge barerra. amateur night at the fights!

 

his corner was also at fault.

but a ref and doctor can stop a fight by themselves within 4 rounds and declare a NC w/o the prodding of a fighter's corner . now, why did they have to wait until the 5th to finally do so?

 

i would prefer a fighter to be pulled out by his corner rather than it be deemed a NC, it was a matter of pride for barrera and his corner should have stepped in

 

Rules are rules. If a fight is stopped after the 4th round due to whatever reasons then they go to the judges cards. Take it like a man and live with it.

BTW, I was rooting for marco to win.

 

Why is it when you want to discuss something someone comes along and says cliches like this? I could give a crap as to either fighter but stupid stuff like this should be discussed to make our sport better.
