People are playing up the significance of Khans performance.

I am glad he won, but it was easy to look good defensively and offensively when a guy cant see you, MAB was a blind guy (a punch bag).

If Khan had the same gash and couldnt see ****, he would have been Kod quite quickly.

Also......THE REF DAVE PARIS is the most currupt official in boxing...should have called the doctor in straight away. Frank Warren always picks this guy...remember TsZYU vs Hatton, Calzaghes various slap stoppages?

Yeah, because Warren planned the cut the whole time. It was a giant conspiracy.

Warren pre-cut Marco, so that he would bleed out by the 5th round and cause Khan to only have to fight for 4 and 1/2 rounds.

    It worked like a charm.

    Give me a break.

Did the cut effect Barrera's performance? Of course it did, but Khan was simply the bigger better fighter last night. Even without the cut Khan would have won.

Is this a great win for Khan? No, but it was the best win of his short career so far. Khan beating a faded and much smaller fighter adds little to Khan's standing as a boxer other than getting him a few headlines and a confidence boost.

What did give Khan fans hope for future success is the improvements Amir showed last night. He may not have had a great test put in front of him but he has made obvious changes and improvement since being KO'ed.

So while it wasn't a great victory it wasn't meaningless either. If anything needs to be put into perspective it's the opinion that last nights fight was simply decided by a cut rather than the fact Khan was clearly the better fighter.

The cuts were hardly in the same league. And they only fought for two minutes before Barrera was compromised. He was hardly dominated in that time.

By your reckoning maybe Calzaghe should have just stayed down against Roy Jones Jr and Hopkins after being pummeled in the first rounds.

Khan looked really good but it's hard to judge how effective he would have been against a Barrera that wasn't bleeding from a gaping wound caused by a clash of heads.

This should have been stopped in round one and declared a no contest. There is no way the golden goose would have been allowed to continue if he was opened up as badly as Barrera but Fwank Warren Promotions badly needed this win on Khan's resume by any means necessary.

not saying khan wasn't dominant but their cuts was nowhere near the same, if you think blood pouring into your eye has no effect on your performance then you have no clue

THat fight was allowed into the 5th just to allow Khan to get the decision. It could and should have been stopped before that and announced a no-contest

If the fight had been stopped early the same clowns would be moaning that MAB wanted to continue and wasn't given the chance.

i am pretty disgusted with a few people last night!!
mainly the ref and the doctor!!

if you are not going to stop the fight immediately after that HORRIFIC cut had been opened ,then why do you have a ref and a doctor at all????
    now i know the replies will suggest;
"there's a lot of money riding on this fight tonight"
    "marco is a warrior"
    "that's what they have a cuts-man for"
    "it wasn't affecting his boxing"
    rubbish,,,and wise up
isn't the refs job to protect a fighter at all times??,,the blood was SPURTING from the cut, badly affecting barrera's vision, the cuts-man couldn't stem the flow of blood,,yes marco is a warrior,,but have some respect for him,,don't keep on sending him back out to slowly bleed away!!.it is not the doctors job to seek barrera's advice on whether he should continue or not,,it's the other way round!!
boxing will not win over any new fans which is it's key to survival!

    a slightly sickened fan....

that's great, but if mab retired in 3rd when asked by ref, it would have been a no contest, simple really

They would even bring up Lewis-Klitschko stating that the bloody mess was just about to knock the opponent the f*ck out. Oh well, as long as they pay, Amir should accept he has more haters than fans.
