Mosley possibly YAPPED his way out of a rematch with Cotto...at least for now.

I think he was referring to the judges hearing the crowd reactionfor every Cotto blow, not the fighters themselves hearing it.

I don't blame mosley for not wanting to fight cotto in new york. We just saw what happen with the john-juarez fight in houston couple of weeks ago. It was a robbery plus mosley wants to fight the winner of pacman-hatton next. That would make mosley more money than a fight with cotto. :good

Shane mosley is the farthest thing from an ******* in boxing that you will ever find.
He is a humble gentleman, well spoken, and good for the sport.
I am a Margarito fan.......have been for quite a while.
I had hoped that Margarito would win the fight with Shane but it didn't go that way.
Cotto actually outboxed Mosley and you guys can cry about how you thought Shane won all you like........He didn't. As unheard of as it may be, Cotto outboxed him.
Mosley earned his red carpet......... and challengers should walk down it TO HIM. The rematch should take place on his terms, as a TRUE champion.

i disagree with anyone saying Cotto does not want a Mosley rematch...here is something i read where Cotto clearly wants a Mosley rematch but its up to PROMOTION to give them that match. Cotto has already said he'll fight anyone they put in his way...this is why i hate promoters but o well thats the sad boxing world we live in:

"Shane has the experience, the power and the boxing skills to beat anyone," said Cotto (33-1, 27 KOs), who stopped England’s Michael Jennings (34-2, 16 KOs) in the fifth round Saturday night to win the unclaimed World Boxing Organization welterweight title.

"I want the fight. If he wants the fight, the issue is when the fight is going to be possible for us. I never ask for an opponent or an arena to fight. I move everywhere Top Rank has sent me to fight. If they send me to the West Coast, I’ll move there. I have no problem with that."

Cotto referred to Mosley’s comments about not wanting to return to the Garden again to fight the popular Puerto Rican welterweight champion.

Mosley’s preference for facing Cotto in Los Angeles or Las Vegas, and its economic implications, could leave Cotto to fight someone else June 13 at the Garden.

His promoters at Top Rank Inc. want to bring Cotto back to the Garden the night before the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade in Manhattan, scheduled for June 14. He fought there the night before the parade from 2005-07, but skipped last year to meet Margarito at MGM Grand seven weeks later.

Kermit Cintron (30-2-1, 27 KOs), a native Puerto Rican who fights out of Reading, Pa., and Ghana native Joshua Clottey (35-2, 20 KOs, one NC), of New York, are high on Top Rank’s short list of alternatives to Mosley.

"Obviously, it makes a lot of sense to come back," said Todd duBoef, Top Rank’s president. "We started this thing with the Puerto Rican parade. We’ll sit down with Miguel and talk in two weeks, after he comes back from vacation."

:rofl:rofl:rofl You almost had me fall out of my chair with that statement. I have posted other reasons why I don't think Mosley is not in the driver's seat. Cotto loses one fight and with all this rumors swarming around that his lose could have been tainted due to loaded gloves. Mosley loses to Cotto whether it was close or not, a win is a win. Mosley now has a belt, but so does Cotto. Cotto will sellout the MSG. Can Mosley do the same? Why is this even a discussion on who is in the driver's seat. They are both good fighters and will eventually meet. We are separating posters here like the thread about Chavez using loaded gloves. The PR's and the Mexican posters were going at it. It is funny at times, but point is for this thread is when are we going to see the rematch, not if.

Post #83. I have not said that Mosley's in the driver's seat. Watching the fight is not going to change my view as to what I have already posted. I'll watch it due to being on my day off and missing a great fight.

True. But perception is not always reality, is it? I think Shane saying he deserved to lose holds a lot more weight than someone on the outside looking in saying he deserved the victory.

But regardless, I do think a rematch is necessary.

Not true at all. The break in action was initiated by Shane himself who stopped his attack and motioned the referee to the wet spot.

Cotto may have been fading, but he wasn't hurt. If he was in serious trouble, I highly doubt a wet spot on the canvas would have kept Shane from going in for the finish.
