If I remember correctly, Joe flew over to see about talks with Taylor, but seeing the Spinks fight, Joe said "nahhh". In short, he was gonna fight Joe instead of Kelly, but Joe saw the shitty Spinks fight and figured he'd do business elsewhere.

 

And to add to that the "fight" was in Memphis, close to JT's home (close enough Mora said it was his backyard, lol) and there were like 4 thousand people there, and they appeared to be there to see Pavlik vs. Miranda.

 

I remember reading on ESB that Taylor outpriced himself...like $8mil?

I've long held the opinion that Steward badly under estimated Pavlik. All his talk going in was that JT would stop Pavlik, and make it look easy. Then there was the stuff he said between rounds; after round 1, "you got him fighting at a pace he's not used to." WTFatsch

If Taylor had fought the first fight the way he fought the rematch, the judges would have given him the win. Agree/Disagree?

 

Agreed,since Lennox Lewis,Emanuel Stweard hasn't cared about his figthers but just their money and has generally been shitty with them.
And yes Taylor would have been given a controversial decision(like previously).Thank God Pavlik came along.

 

If Pavlik didnt knock Taylor out, in the first fight, he was about to get robbed. The ***** of Julie Lederman had Taylor up by 5 ****in points. Can you believe this.

 

Lederman was in the building hours after everyone else had left wondering why she was sitting there watching the ring getting taken down since she had had score cards for the last 5 rounds filled out ready to turn in.

 

Please do not get me on a Julie Lederamn rant! That woman should be banned for life. She is one of the worst judges around.
