In fact, staying on his stool is exactly how Hasim Rahman played it in his rematch with James Toney..... The fight was fought in California, and Joe and Dan Goosen who promote Toney, had the ref and doctor in their back pocket.... After Rahman got off to a good start, a clash of heads occured in one of the early rounds before the 4th that resulted in a nasty cut on Rahman......all of a sudden Rahman is getting hit with right hands Rahman is'nt seeing coming due to blood in his eye...... ....when the round ended, the ref goes up to Rahman and tells him he has to come out for the next round..... .....Rahman is repeatedly heard in his corner telling the ref I cant see his punches coming....... .....the ref continues to probe Rahman trying to convince him to continue fighting...... ....all Rahman did was sit in his corner and kept repeating to the ref, "I cant see his punches coming, I cant see, my vision is blurred!" ......because the the Goosens had the ref under their back pocket, the ref signaled an end to the fight and declared Toney the winner. Rahman protested the outcome to the proper orginization and days later that Toney victory was overturned to a no-contest! My point is that MAB could not be forced to continue under the circumstances he found himself in..... .....but some fighters and fight teams have no idea on how to stand up for themselves!
The butt was accidental, but yeah I do believe that MAB is the one that moved his head toward Khan's forehead that was stationary, and that caused the cut.
Barrera was getting owned.. before and after the cut. Marco says Khan's shots weren't anything, but that's Marco just being Marco. It's obvious he was bothered by them, he kept getting pushed back by them. He never looked hurt, but that doesn't mean they weren't being felt.. the proof is watching the fight. Marco also wasn't "blind".. last time I checked his other eye was working just fine. The cut ruined the fight.. yes. It put Marco at a distinct disadvantage... yes. Did it change the outcome of the fight? I don't believe so. Marco was getting a serious beatdown by a younger, faster, and bigger guy.
What you posted may very well be true..... .....but like I wrote earlier, had JMM sustained the same cut vs Juan Diaz in the very first round????? .....tell me you probably would'nt have written the exact post you're writing now, but equating it to JMM in place of MAB? I'm a huge JMM fan, but I'll tell you something right now, JMM loses that fight to Juan Diaz if he'd sustained the same uncontrollable cut that MAB had vs Khan..... ....and in the very same sense posters like yourself would be writing that Diaz would have likely won that fight anyways........and we know that was'nt the case!
Great post. In fact, all of your posts I completely agree with. Nobody is saying Marco wins if his vision wasn't impaired, but there should be nobody questioning how big of a factor it turned out to be. The blood was seeping into the eye, and Marco was repeatedly seen wincing, and trying to wipe away the blood with his gloves. Terrible cut. Should have been called a NC at the end of round 1, and a rematch should be taking place. If Khan wins, by stoppage or decision, at least there is nothing tainting the victory besides Barrera's age.
jmm is a close to prime p4p fighter, barrera is a past his best fighter who hasn't had mnay fights over the last couple of years ts quite a big difference.
The reason the cut bothered Marco was not because he couldnt see, but because cuts hurt like hell. Id especially imagine a cut that big hurt real bad. Marco looked very frustruted and it looked like Khan was close to stopping him if they let it continue. Khan didnt hurt MAB but he stung him a few times thats for sure
One of the silliest comments I have heard in awhile. The blood was seeping into eye. That wouldn't bother you?
he has no power at all, barrera flying back and forward? maybe cus hes ****ing tiny and sluggish as ****? hes like mini blob compared to khan, a natural light-welter, compared to his prime. khan cant hurt super-feathers or bantams with 20 punch combos, he has no power. couldnt keep oisin ***an down with a broken ankle... no power. no KOs under his belt, all ended in premature stoppage with him overwhelming his smaller opponent by weight of punches against countless super featherweight bums... no power.
you find it funny that that a legend of the sport was put into a circus match with a kid who has done **** all to warrant being in the ring as him? some fan you are.
Do you find it funny that a legend of the sport is getting told what to do or put into circus matches at his age. He's a grown man. If Khan hadnt done enough to warrant being in the same ring as Marco then Marco shouldnt have got in the ring. Simple. Is Khan now getting the blame for Marco's decisions coz someone needs to keep a list of things Khan has done to incur the wrath of "geniune" boxing fans and not us part-timers.
