Anyway yeah If they could only understand tagalog they would probably laugh at Pacquiao jokes how we ridicule him in every single way.

If he is god then we must have a cult by now. Pacland is still far to be one.

Mind you last year I was on a back-packing holiday. It was going well till I hit the Phillipines. A guy jumped out from behind a tree holding a gun and demanded that I hand over my rucksack. I slowly removed it them BAM threw it straight at him and charged. I managed to grab hold of the gun. We wrestled for about 30 seconds before he let go and ran off.

To this day I've kept the gun as a reminder.

In the present, and with the rise of the Pacific Storm, boxing has been opened up to an entire new audience and fan base from this generation of Filipinos around the world. From an immigrant dishwasher in JacksonHeights in Queens to a cleaning lady at a 4 star hotel in downtown LA. From a nurse in a small town in Northern Ireland to a brain surgeon in Houston, from a seaman in the Pacific Ocean to a naval officer in the Atlantic. From an Engineer in Saudi Arabia to the cook in the island of Hawaii. To all these Filipinos all over the world, boxing matters, boxing is not just a fight, not just a sport. It is in fact an unspoken
language of oneness, of humanity and belief that yes it is all possible.

A kid from the depths of the armpits of Philippine poverty is on top. I totally understand why the admiration is so misunderstood in some quarters, but all I can say is one must live through it, to truly understand it. Because if theyre lucky enough to comprehend it, there is just no way one will not be affected by this powerful story that is unfolding right through our eyes. I am just glad to see that people of the world are now joining us in all the excitement were having in following this saga.

Let everyone be reminded that although boxing is a sport, it is not just a sport, it is also a source of belief and inspiration and even more. Let me emphasize that Manny is not the one and only for all Filipinos, he is not the be all and end all, but in fact he is one of many to come, there are now more than 90 million people next in line for greatness, and when I say greatness, Im not just referring to boxing.

I have to admit, I havent followed whats going on in Manila politics, I just take it that, hes got to be one brave soul to get into the dirt and grittiness of entering the political arena. My hope is he storms at congress, even Malacanang (presidential palace), the way he stormed at the boxing world. The man already showed his patriotism through blood and sweat, but I do know that politics especially Philippine politics is an entirely different beast in itself.

But believe me when I say this; If theres anyone who can bring about change in a long suffering country, it has got to be the Pacific Storm. It will take him time to learn to maneuver the underbelly of Philippine politics, it may take a lot of painful lessons, and of course a lot of money. But the way I see it, you only have to look at the mans past and see what he has done to see where he is going. This is where you will see where his heart and soul is and his beliefs. At the end of his career, I would estimate he will have enough money to bail out an entire banking industry of a third world country, he can retire in luxury, pursue a good life anywhere in the world and do whatever he wants. He can live a very good life, a life that anyone dreams of, but if hes willing to give it all up to serve his country, then all I can say is this man is the real thing.

And to all the unbelievers out there, the storm is real and THIS IS PACQUIAO NATION, deal with it. His legions of followers are growing and theyre from all nations and races, deal with it. They will all be overly enthusiastic and hopeful, deal with it. They will defend their hero like they defend their lives, deal with it. He is on top right now and will be as long as he wants to be, deal with it. And in the mans own words, Knock me out and you win, deal with it!

what most posters here say that pac fans think he is a god. not true. he is just like any of us but he has risen from the depths of poverty (like a phoenix) to reign on top of the mythical p4p ratings. he sheperds his people, shares his gifts with the impoverished and makes them believe that they shall overcome their oppression. he heals the sick and poor by funding hospitals. the people delight at the miracles he performs in the ring. after his early defeats as an malnurished child he still kept the faith. why most posters here have to crucify him and his fans, i'll never understand.

Pac fans rank Pac above men who have fought better comp than him, fought longer than him, and who are greater than him. Pac is not a top 50 fghter, and only guys who are younger than 25 promote Ac to legendary status. Check his comp, and get back to us. Pac has to do a lot more than beat shot, old men with names that were once great in their prime!
