Shame the fight had to end like this....but there is nothing worse then losing significant volumes of blood while fighting. It is probably the most dangerous aspect of boxing. In terms of the long term consiquences to someones health.

MAB is basically fighting in one eye here not to mention that the other eye with blood in it is very distracting.

Too bad we were not able to see how the fight will go on had there been no head butt. So far Khan was impressive in the first half. Can he maintain that level in the second half? I saw Khan got wobbled at the end of the 2nd round. Had the fight continued with no head butt, Khan's chin would have been put to more test and I think that chin would have gave in in the later rounds.

Had MAB did not suffer this unfortunate thing, he will tko or ko Khan, just like what JMM did to Diaz.

    What?

Actually in reality the blood loss is not a significant issue. You would have to lose MASSIVE amounts of blood for that to come into play. Of course, the biggest health risk in boxing is brain damage from blows to head.

Never saw the actual fight but upon seeing these pics and how bad the cut was, I'd say that MAB probably wasn't in the best condition during that fight.

It gave Khan unfaor advantage. It should have been stopped before round 5 without any doubt. It was a horrible officiating.

you're rarely going to be in danger of bleeding to death, or even losing enough blood to impari your performance. the main worry is irrepairable scar tissue(which im sure barrera doesnt care about now) and of course the blood getting in your eyes. Also, some fighters tend to panick when they get a bad cut.

headbutt definitely play a factor but i think without it barrera would need a ko to win bc khan is younger, faster, bigger and in hometown. Khan would have probably take a decision or tko, or get ko all very likely.

total con job they let it go to the 5th just so it'd go to the judges not a no contest. But then knowing brits they probably feared a riot would break out seein as cookie and enzo both got KTFO. A hollow victory in my opinion,,but at least his defence looked better

    it wasnt a head butt.
it was a clash of heads.
what is mad about it is, if mab`s head was two inches lower he would of caught khan on the chin and probably ko`d him.lol
khan was clearly dominant any way and would of won regardless.

It bled like that from round 1 ti'll they stopped it....

....never at any instance was the blood flow controlled.

The only thing MAB's corner could do was place a thick amount of vaseline on top of the cut before MAB walked out for the start of a round......but even with the vaseline in place, blood began to flow out of it even before a punch would be thrown to start the rounds.

There is absolutely no excuse for the ref and doctor to not have stopped that fight prior to the 5th round!

The cut was opened in the 1st, when MAB's team could'nt control the flow of blood even while MAB came out for rounds.......

.....it should have been stopped during or at the end of 3 rounds imo!
