Zale in his prime was quicker all around and more technically skilled. He would do basically what Valdez did to him.
Wow, still no one talking about how Zale was stopped 5 times, including a 155 Graziano. A ancient Briscoe backed Marvin Hagler up.
The reason the Graziano fights were competitive was because Zale was past his best.Graziano was not a great middle ,but he WAS a great puncher as SRR would testify.Zale was stopped a couple of times when he was 18years old, he was a very tough man.
Im going with Bennie aswell...He was hard as rock and I dont think Zale's body punching will have the desired effect. As the fight grinds on Id take Bennie's very proven power to take out Tony. Would one of those fights to remember whilst it lasted though.
Briscoe by late round KO...but the Philly bias may have influenced my pick. I could Zale winning a decision here as well, but I can't pick Bennie to lose this one.
No, Briscoe was undeed backing him up against his will through his body work. Hagler had to give ground. I know he was a very tough fighter. I just feel Briscoe's chin would see him through after Zale's would fail.
but Hagler wasnt looking to stand his ground in that fight, i'm not doubting he would make hagler give ground but hagler was doing it voluntarily IMO. His body work was good in that fight, hagler hated it
Either pick is valid , it would be a close tough fight ,probably a pick em, no one should get irate if some one picks the other guy here.
