Actually, I've heard this in a lot of corners. Nothing original with Jack on this one. We should start keeping that list. I even saw a fight on ESPN Classic where the corner kept repeating that. :yep

A year ago I would have agreed with you. Right after Kelly won the titles, Mora supposedly called his brother and said, "I gotta fight this guy. I've got the right style to beat him." I can't stand this clown, and I would love to see somebody put him out of his misery. However, putting Mora out of his misery is a job more suited to Zuniga or Rubio than it is to the middleweight champion of the world. If Kelly signs this, it will be the first fight of his I missed since he first got my attention when he stopped McKart.

Reg, allegedy is allegedy...you know better than that. Second, Forrest is irrelevant to mention imo whether the fight is made with AA or not. You can call AA a paper champ till you turn blue in the face lol...but Taylor is the one who decided not to fight his mandatory. Who said calling a man out makes you a legit champion? And finally, Ali was not stripped for NOT fighting his mandatory. Your point is very extreme. Reg, not for nothing...I consider you a good poster, and we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Pavlik should not be fighting Mora, there are way better fights out there.

So Reg, by that reasoning we would have no current Heavyweight champ as Marciano retired undefeated and no one beat him to become the champ.

And we can never again have a SMW champ as Calzaghe retired undefeated.

And didn't Floyd retire without losing the lineal Welter wt title ?

The fact is, both AA and KP have belts.

KP's has , IMO, a little more legitimacy because of how he got it.

But that legitimacy is running out like sand in a timer, so long as he avoids AA.

The reasons for the avoidance eventually become unimportant.

    Arum. Business. $$$, mandatories, whatever.

If 2009 ends without this fight being made, despite AA's pressing, I don't believe too many will consider Kelly the man at 160.

How can Pavlik be a champ if he is running away from AA? Either Team Pavlik are cowards or they're unable to tell their management (Arum) what they want (Abraham???). No more excuses!

Like no other champ has ever made a contender wait before? I'm pretty sure Arum laid it out for Saurland about making the most money on this fight since these two deserve it. That is why Saurland already had Forrest lined up. Arum has said for a long time he thought this should be a big payday for both guys. And if you listen to most on this board, they think after these two fight they should both move up anyhow? :patsch So why even make the fight at middle if they should both be fighting at SMW? :patsch Somedays this board just gets me down.

You're taking a lot of liberties here and coming up with conclusions that are not based on what I actually wrote. I said that Abraham would no longer be a paper champ if he beat a champion. Pavlik or Sturm would both fit that bill. At SMW, just one of those guys has to unify and they would shed the paper champ label.

I've pretty much already answered this. If someone unifies, they're not a paper champ. Mosley beat the WBA champ to get his belt, he's not a paper champ. Berto, Cotto, and Clottey did not beat any champs, they are paper champs.

    No one is disputing this.

He has a lot more legitimacy as he beat the reigning WBC/WBO champ to get his belts(added bonus, Taylor beat the undisputed champ to get his titles and actually held all 4 belts.)

That's bull****. He's the champ until he gets beat or leaves the division. Abraham needs to be realistic with his demands and come to the states if he wants to be the real champ at MW. Either that, or he can drop his paper title and try to become Pavlik's mando.

I believe you will be wrong.
