At least he showed you guys he's got a chin before you start proclaiming him as a glass jawed joke as most of you ignorant Yanks do. He's never been down, not pro, not amateur, not sparring, never.

Seeing as he's shown a chin you guys can't pick holes in anything else, all you do is proclaim him a joke all-round because you can't go into depth in criticizing and because your jealous that you don't have any heavies coming through.

seriously though, throwing uppercuts is awkward period. especially on the inside. i know ive done the same thing before. well, not so hard sweat and spit went flying off of me.

    Same.

Especially if your uppercut bounces of your opponents gloves like in the vid.

Shame that a load of Yanks who've never boxed have to laugh at it because of pure envy.

Again, where's all the US heavyweight prospects?

if you split your opponents guard and dont push off, he ducks, you punch yourself. i really need to practice. but how? cut the heavy bag in half?
even when shadowboxing, to throw a half-force upper jacks my balance up. **** that punch.

The uppercut is an awfully hard punch to master. I'm fine throwing a right uppercut if I'm in the southpaw stance and step into it diagonally to the right, ie I start slightly left of my opponent, that's actually my favourite little combo because I can follow it with a southpaw left hook, but anywhere else I can barely throw it properly. If I'm right inside I can but anywhere on the outside or mid range and I'll miss completely.

I don't know but I am sure that Jim Lampley would have called it as a sizzling left hook by his opponent.

im orthodox and can only throw the upper in a 1-2, more like an inverted cross/overhand, or totally square which i try not to do. my left upper is like a 45 hook because i cant find the correct step/balance. im literally beating myself up trying to learn. :!:

That's a point. I can throw the left upper cut from an orthodox position and the short right hand over the top.

It one's of those punches that you can throw well in a certain combination put you can't throw singlely or in other combo's like you could with a hook or a straight.
