Jack Loew: I don't like the Mora fight, Abraham would be easy work.

What demands??? And why would AA drop his title? You are the only person who has called AA a paper champion, and I think you are doing it on purpose. nobody considers AA a paper champion. They might consider Pav the lineal champion, and that's about it.

If Winky gets past Williams, he becomes the number one challenger, and Arthur's abc title no longer matters. I think most people would agree that any version of Winky that can beat Williams is a long way from shot. He's a bigger name, a better fighter, and certainly more respected. In addition, a Pavlik/Wright fight has been brewing since at least 2006.

I'm astounded that people can watch **** like Abraham/Simon and Abraham/Ayala, and still have such a high opinion of Abraham.

Who was the idiot interviewer? Mora's fought his entire career at 160 other than his two fights with Forrest. I don't think Loew is a good trainer, but I agree with most of what he says here, other than that Pavlik would knock out Abraham.

Why? Arthur struggles against the exact kind of opponents KP destroys. Pretty simple to figure out.

And Pavlik's performance against Lockett and Rubio were deficient how? His performances against Taylor X2 and Miranda and Zuertche and Zuniga were deficient how? One bad performance on a night where his health problems were documented? Yeah. That compares to Simon and Ayala.

Simon has a KO ratio around 50% against **** poor opposition. On more than one occassion he snapped Arthur's head back with a jab. Food for thought:yep

No liberties were taken, Reg. I was just seeking clarification on your position on these matters. And my conclusions followed directly from what you actually wrote:

    You wrote
The only conclusion that can be drawn from what you wrote is that you must beat a champion to become a champion.

SInce no one beat Marciano, no one can have become a champion, and therefore anytime we have the undisputed lineal champion retire undefeated, the line ends.

This may not be what you meant but it is the only possible conclusion that can be drawn from what you wrote.

Eh? He hasn't even fought half the guys you're talking him about. He blasted out Lockett (a MANDATORY) in 3 rounds. Rubio came to hide in the corner, which makes it extremely difficult to stop him, but Pavlik still did. And in both those fights - like all his fights - Pavlik came out aggressively and trying to make it an exciting fight.

Contrast that with AA - he fights for about 20 seconds a round, and the rest of the time curls up in his shell in his corner. And he doesn't even have an excuse to be fighting the tramps he does; he picks those fighters, whereas Pavlik has to fight what the belt holders tell him to fight.

    :patsch

Okay --- maybe "struggles" is a bit of an over statement, but Ayala and Simon looked like decent fighters against AA, and the best opponent on Arthur's resume did not last 7 rounds against Pavlik. These other cans would not see the end of 5.

I actually don't see what people were bitchin about that hard.I just got to se Abraham vs Simon and while it was a bad performance by Abraham it wasn't anything near as bad as it's talked about. He won it clearly(altough closer than the official scores) against a guy with a good chin, good defense, nice jab and movement, tall, rangy, basically a good boxer. And altough I don't like to get on Pavlik you for ce me too..........at least Simon tried unlike mr. Rubio.
And altough Pavlik's level of competition is slightly higher IMO Abraham has good opponents too in this shitty MW division:Hamdan,Eastman,Ikeke,Jantuah are all good opponents and early in his career.

And on a related note, how would Sturm fit the bill ?

Sturm came by his title by defeating , Maselino Masoe.

But does Masoe meet your criteria for being a champ in the first place ?

He and Sturm fought for the title that had been stripped from Jermain Taylor.

So by your reasoning, he was only a paper champion, and therefore Sturm got his title by defeating a paper champ.

So does Sturm still fit the bill ?
