Rightly or wrongly, people put a good stock in avenging defeats. In a long term sense, it does matter. Besides, it would be easy to promote and should be a winnable fight as well as a good payday for Prescott.
Prescott impressed me in his last fight because I thought he was just a puncher with no skill, he actually has some slickness but he makes a lot of mistakes also, he got hit flush to the chin so many times in his last fight. I thought since he is probably used to knocking people out he would only really on his power and nothing else. He does need some real trainers though big time.
Prescott will take the fight and to be honest with you fellas, I see Khan winning by Unanimous decision. Khan will definetly have better success this time around and he probably will outbox Prescott for 6 rounds but what happens when Khan starts to get tired because Prescott to me is a long rangey fighter who throws dangerous punches for the full 12. Toledo was a tricky opponent who kept on coming in with his head so Prescott just kept him at range but Khan has speed and speed kills but eventually that speed and work rate will slow down and then what happens after that. I cant see Prescott landing him with anything big because I dont see Prescott as a counter puncher. I see Khan pulling this one off because Prescott would not have a plan B when plan A (Power him out of there) Does not work. But the question is, if Khan is shaken again, can he shake off those cobwebs or will we see that paper machay chin take a hammering.
I think he will take it, it weren't exactly a hard fight for him last time and khan is at a higher status having just beaten barrera, a victory will do more for prescott this time round against the improved amir khan.
I disagree with that. Credit might be low in coming, a short burst of it after the fight of course (should Khan win). If Khan wants to get to the top he can't be having straight losses on his record, i think he is confident enough to hope to clean up. Will he:huh probably not but he has some pure skills:deal
I think it is very important to try and avenge a loss. Prescott is not as skilled as Khan, but he himself is only 21 yrs. Even though Prescott beat Khan, Khan still has a bigger name so I would think Prescott would surely be interested in the fight. Khan needs to right a wrong and Prescott will want to show it was no fluke. I'm interested in seeing this fight.
improved?prescott is no colin bain or martin krisjiansson, he will not be impressed one iota by khan beating up more tiny has beens, khan will never outbox prescott :rofl:rofl:rofl prescott is no has-been who didnt carry a punch at feather... ergo khan is tailor made for him
Do we hold Rahman in high esteem, or McCall? No, but it was important for LL to avenge those two fights because in retirement he can say he beat everyone he faced. If Khan would win it would be a significant boost to his psyche and in the minds of boxing fans, at least I see it that way.
Neither Prescott or Khan is ready for the top LW's. They both need 2 or 3 more fights. So why not fight each other again? It's a good step for whoever wins for varying reasons.
he'd lose again I still don't think Khan is ready for Prescott. Everyone is getting carried away with his last fight but lets face it he was fighting a guy who was past his best and as per usual was giving up height, reach, and was coming up in weight. Khan at 5'10" is big for the lightweight division and only 1 inch shorter than Margarito! so why is he always fighting super featherweights?
Khan will prolly win the rematch...but Khan is still garbage...He'll never be a unified champ at any weight nor will he ever be anything special...
