chris byrd and tony thompson are both fighting right? is espn showing those? thatd be awesome...

also, agreed with widow_maker, the promotion for this fight is a joke. i cant remember the last time a major hw fight was shown on anything but hbo/showtime/ppv. if we want boxing to start on the 'road to recovery' (i think its doing just fine, but u know all those haters out there...), then events like this could go a long long way.

It's better for the sport if the fight is on ESPN, rather than HBO. ESPN is on every cable package, HBO is a premium service.

nono, thats what im saying. its AWESOME that its on espn, it just that they (espn) are not doing any kinda job promoting or advertising that the fight is being shown. acting like its no big deal.

I think thats it... baby steps... this fight coming up.. then after will be peter/chambers... I think they are doing it slow... I hope they keep going... this is great for big time boxing... I think it was "Rico" that said 15 million viewers for HBO and 98 million for ESPN.. this is awesome for boxing:happy:happy

I think it's like a test. If those fights come out good , ESPN will put more.

Its a mess. They say 5pm but ESPN screwed up. I heard from Wlad when ESPN called and realized they **** up... we(the U.S.) had a time change. Gemany did not. ESPN didnt realize that... so 11pm in Germany is 6pm eastern not 5pm.... ESPN then said they has a conflict... now they say they will fix it and still show it live.... but is 6pm eastern not 5..... DUMBASSES:rofl:rofl..

But I would start watching at 5 just to make sure they dont start the fight earlier in Germany, but I dont think they will

A lot of times ESPN will show the undercard online through some special service, but you only get that service if you use certain cable carriers. Not sure if they're doing that for this one though.

ESPN 360, likely they will show the undercards, the only problem is that ESPN blocks certain internet providers, like comcast, from accessing. it

Anyone know what time the weight in is, and if it will be broadcast live on ESPN? You would hope so, considering the fight is on ESPN.

Heavyweights are usually Thursday, but I seem to remember (may be mistaken), that in Germany they usually weigh in on Friday just like the lighter weight classes do.
