Ok, just watched JC Gomez-Virchis. 6/10

Gomez has the ability to cause Vitali a few problems but he'll need to be in better shape that he was for the Virchis fight.

Gomez has beautiful technique, great handspeed for a HW and can really put his combinations together. Plus he's southpaw with a decent jab and a great straight left. One interesting thing I've found out is that Vitali's reach is 80" and Gomez's is 80.5" but Vitali is way obviously much taller (6"7 to Gomez's 6"3).

The more I think about this the more I think Gomez pulls off the upset. Vitali has been out for a long time, is 37 and Sam Peter was a moving punch bag that made him look good. Maybe age will catch up with Vitali and Gomez will box rings round him :think.

    Hamed vs. Robinson and Kelley.

    Barrera-Morales 1, which I scored 116-115 for Barrera.

just re watched Jones jnr vs John Ruiz , cracking display by jones he totaly took ruiz out of he's game and as much as john tryed to hug he could not get near jones or he got a right hand or hook in the face for he's troubles. it then got me thinking why the hell didnt Jones stay at heavyweight and defend the title a few times provided he stayed away from the klitcshko's and lewis but hey no matter how much jones declined dropping down that victory cemented he's legacy

I had 5 rounds to MAB, 4 rounds to EM, 3 even.

    I gave 1, 4, 8, 9 & 12 to MAB.

    I scored 2, 7 & 11 as even.

    And gave EM, 3, 5, 6 & 10.

i had no even rounds but i had it barrera by 1 so the last round KD won the fight for MAb. IMO this is the best fight ever, action, drama, change in aggressor and winner of rounds, and most of all competitive

Yep, I had Barrera 1 point down going into the last round, the KD won the fight for him on my card. Don't know about best fight of all time, there are a few I probably prefer more like Tito-Vargas, Castillo-Corrales 1, Gatti-Ward 1, but yeah, overall a classic.

i think Castillo-Corrales is over rated as they smothered each others work, Gatti Ward was a tear up but no real skill, Trinidad vargas was good but didnt have the same ferocity

its the skill that make sthis fight the best ever

btw if you like them fights you will like carmen basilio
