The best measure of p4p should be how to make your opponents look shot with blinding speed, lightning combinations, and relentless stamina enough to last 20 rds. Or to make them tumble in the most hilariously lewd ways. :yep:good

1995? Seriously, you must be just a kid. (And a ****** at that). :rofl

The best measure is without a doubt how a fighter looks against other top fighters. Boxing is a visual sport, a sport of proof. I can say Pac is P4P#1, but if he doesn't prove it against top opposition, then who knows, because all top fighters look stellar against old, shot, or weak comp.

In 1995 I was 15 years old. It's when I started following boxing, when I became a fanatic.

I've always watched boxing, I'm Mexican, but following it since 1995. 14 years now.

    I agree with you!:good

It's a measure of how good you are compared to other fighters in different divisions. It is judged on your level of performance over the last few fights/lately. You cannot gauge someone's level of performance without gauging that of their opponent...beating a fighter who performed very well in a close fight counts for much more than KO-ing a crap fighter who never had a chance...for example.

when it did mean something, it meant that 1 fighters skills were enough to possibly beat out any other fight at any weight skill for skill.....for example, roy jones jr's style at any weight would've been a ****en problem, therefore the p4p title suited him good....

there have been only a few deserving of that title created by fans, but now it gets blown out of proportion.....therefore, i dont give a **** about it

what infuriates me is that it is often reserved as a title, like if you beat the p4p#1 you are there for #1.
    simply doesnt work like that.

roy was denounced as p4p#1 becuase of his low comp level, same with Pernell and JCC, when pernell became numero uno becuase of fighting tougher opponants....also standing them on there heads adds to his reason.

why pavlik was placed at number 6 by boxrec is beyond me.....you telling me apart of 6 fighters he is the absolute best fighter, what ever wieght, what ever belt, what ever level of comp whatever country he is fightign out of??!?!?!?!

you can beat tiger wood buts that doesnt mean you become tiger woods

And I have always understood P4P to mean that if all fighters were the same size, the fighter who would be most DOMINANT would be P4P#1.

i award the Malislamusrex P4P belt to the P4P champion.

My board of directors works out the champ with this scientific equation.

P4P ratio = weight / KO ratio + wins * (style points + HBO specials - jibber jabber) + Golden Boy magic points - losses.

At the moment ODLH is the champ, i keep the belt in my house, i let Oscar wear it when he comes over.

Of course it is COMPLETELY wrong. Wrong to the point of illogical, impossible and insane.

To decide who was greater p4p between Lennox Lewis and Ricardo Lopez, you either imagine a 106lbs Lewis or a 6ft 5in Lopez, or both of them somewhere in between - but to do any of these things you would have to completely change one or both men, thus rendering the thing pointless and the attempt failed.

It's the most widely believed and yet utterly ridiculous myth in boxing.

That is not what it means, and not what it ever meant!

it's you who's wrong, the clues in the title (pound for pound), obviously a heavyweight isn't as quick but has more power than a lightweight, but you take these into consideration when taking your pick.
