After Enzo Maccarinelli's knockout loss to Ola Afolabi. Will Enzo now turn to MMA fights ?

Retirement. He can't keep fighting with that fragile Glass Jaw.

He was rocked badly with an over hand right just as he threw his left hook to the body at the end of round 3.

It can’t be easy for Macernallei being stuck between the Warren/Calzaghe ongoing squabble. I very much doubt he will continue to box but if he does, I would suggest jumping ship to Mick Hennessy.

I loved his comments about the Taylor –Froch fight. “This isn't a case of a young fighter on the way up taking advantage of a big name on the way out or two old timers cashing out with a big payday - this is a real fight.”

I like Mick and I think Enzo would be a good addition to his stable.

Enzo is a blatant case of mismanagement, there is no doubt that he has some talent but he has been feed a stable diet of bums for so long he hasn’t improved at all… I feel sorry for him because since his defeat to Haye his career seems cursed. He has had more cancellations and setbacks then you can shake a stick at. I think all these things have contributed to his obvious lack of desire. (I think Warren lost interest after the Haye defeat to) MMA isnt that way to go for Enzo either.

Enzo can still make money in the sport, just not as the top draw on the card. If he gets busy and takes a few bouts against C then B class opponents over the next 3 -18 months, he could still build his way back tot he top and make one more run at it some time in 2010.

Makes sense, a fresh start would do him well.

I'd agree with him needing a new team behind him. Warren would probably let him leave now and all, maybe. Hennessy would be the obvious choice as he'd be a decent addition to their stable but what about Hayemaker? Not a bad choice I don't think. But a new trainer is a must. He's not Calzaghe and training like him is not going to better himself. New anager, new trainer and set up a 2-3 fight confidence building campaign against 11-20 ranked opposotion, to let him finish the year in good spirits. Then for 2010 he can look at getting back in the top 5 and maybe a title shot. I genuinely don't feel he's done just yet. The man can still make a decent amount of money out of the game yet and he's still only entering his physical peak.

mma sounds like a good option for him now

there are many many other top cruisers that are inline for the titles now he has to realy get cracking and start knocking loads of chumps out for good 2 years before he gets ahead of guys like adamek, wlodaczyck, cunningham, fragameni, hide, jones, tokarev, godfrey, troy ross to name a phew
and that is no easy feat

i dont think he is up to the task
