Juan Manuel Marquez. Whilst JMM had had a few good rounds he was behind on the judges scorecards when the ref stopped Julian Wheeler with 10 seconds left in the last (10th) round. He had being hurt worse earlier, and was clinching and holding on. It was a terrible stoppage and whenever JMM fought in the Californian forum again the commentators ALWAYS mentioned how he should have lost that. Thats why its good getting career sets, you find out about dodgy wins which most people don't know.

Jesus, that's bad. When the opposing fighter and the horribly biased commentators are both wondering what you're doing, you're probably doing the wrong thing.

That truly may be the most inexplicable stoppage I've ever seen. Other guy winning fight = stop the fight??

This one from last weekend is just terrible.

The bell rang about 20 times at the end of round 4 before the ref jumped in, and then he compounded the error by waving it off and giving Segura a stopage victory:

I think UK refs seem to adhere to amatuer boxing rules where it says
that a ref can stop a fight if he sees that one fighter is unable to continue
or is BEING SERIOUSLY OUTCLASSED. And that's what most calz stoppages where. His opponents were so hopelessly lost in there the ref
just pulled the plug. It looks like joe's punches have absolutley nothing on them, yet all his opponents do the same thing when he comes in. RETREAT!!

I thought the brewer/echols stoppage was horrible. Brewer had eschols
down and out, but the ref let antwun continue. Then echols hits brewer
with 2-3 shots on the ropes, and the ref calls it. Bull**** stoppage!

In other words: they do the wrong thing.

This would preclude some great endings to some fascinating fights. If the ref's don't know/enforce the (pro) rules, they shouldn't be reffing pro fights.

What a joke that was! Manfredo was only getting slapped around like he was in an all-girls school & that ref thought it should have been stopped?

Yeah, Manfredo was inches away from death!

I think the JCC/Meldrick Taylor stoppage was questionable.
