p4p is just a list of the top 10 best fighters. I dont really know anyone who uses it as a gauge to measure how fighters would do at higher weights or lower weights.

"I hope the fight happens, and after it does I hope the police troll this site for all the people that wanted Pac to take the fight so they can charge them with accessories to murder cuz Oscar would kill pac" hudson nahhhhhh..... :good:good:good:good

The only fighters Calzaghe fought who were out of prime was Eubank and jones and they were still considered top ten in their division at the time.
By your very own definition and understanding of P4P which is, as your thread title states, YOU have to fight and beat the best to be P4P#1, JMM can not be considered as such. First. Say for argument sake that FMJ, active or not, is the best in boxing right now, obviously JMM has yet to fight let alone beat him. So based on your definition, JMM fails to meet your criteria. Second, your hero, JMM fought Pacquiao (the P4P#2 before FMJ's retirement and now the current P4P #1) twice already. In both occasions, the fight was too close and could have gone either way. So whether the win goes to JMM or to Pacquiao, the official decision will always be debatable. Unfortunately for him and for his fans, the official decision didn't go his way but to Pacquiao's instead. So in this case, JMM did fight the best but didn't beat the best. So again, JMM failed your criteria. So no matter what you say and twist things up, by your own definition and understanding of what P4P#1 is, history and reality right now will tell you that JMM did not beat the best and therefore can not be considered as P4P#1.:deal
just pointing something out here guys. stating opinions as fact will never persuade people from their own personal point of view. we, as adults, have the right to our own opinions. if you dont agree with what the general consensus has to say about an individual, kudos, you dont have to. you have your own objective ideas, whether relative to events, persons, or places. no one can take that away. but, because you are given these rights as an individual, one must be understanding in that others will not agree. respect that, whether you are in the general consensus, or against it. it is our right. regardless of opinion, i think everyone on eastside boxing is here because of one thing in common; we are all fans of the great sport of boxing. except for *******s. **** them guys. j/k
Pac fought and beat the best at 112, he fought and beat (dominated) arguably the best at 122, he fought and dominated the best at 126, and he fought and beat the best at 130. He fought and dominated one of the best at 135, though not the best. And then fought someone who used to be the best but was no longer the best and dominated him, at 147. Now he is fighting the best at 140, and he is the favorite despite having never fought in that weightclass. Give the man some credit.
