If a boxer fought a martial arts master at boxing, what would be the result?

his condition, the things he was able to do, i am not some big bruce lee fan by any means but he would be a tough fight for most guys of his size boxing or fighting. He studied countless fights and was an am boxer himself, alot of his style of martial arts was taken from boxing.
Imo any guy with such speed and power for his relative size as well as am experience and vast knowledge of fighting has to be given some chance.
If you take the question as it stands i think pretty much no martial arts fighters could do anything to a pro boxers in a boxing match however lee was far more studied in boxing and fighting than any master i have ever heard about.

tb REALLY fair Lee was a Kung Fu student and an actor. Neither of those categories means **** when it comes to fighting. Yes he was a good athlete, and ridiculously motivated. Had he moved to Brazil and met Helio Gracie he probably would have been a hell of a fighter, but he didn't and he wasn't. Lee would have been about as tough as you would expect an in-shape, athletic 130 lb guy who can kick and punch to be. Which isn't very, for a regular sized moderately athletic guy.

Those of you looking down on Bruce Lee as some movie faker have no idea what you are talking about. I'll do a little research and post some amazing physical feats he was able to achieve a bit later.

Grow up. First off, he was an actor. Those were PRETEND fights. Second off, it's been pretty well proven beyond a doubt that KF doesn't work, PERIOD.

If you're very young, you get a pass. Otherwise, stop being a ****ing **** please and read up on the Gracie family and the history of the UFC.

He was a GREAT actor, tho, love his movies. And to his credit, he did get in a fight with another KF guy and it degenerated into a slapfest, and he took that to heart and started trying to learn to grapple and REALLY fight. It takes years to do that and the right training, and he had neither.

How do you know he's a better athlete?? Have you ever seen him go 12 rounds with someone who genuinely tries to take his head of, instead of 2 minutes of dancing while making those weird chicken sounds with closeups of his six pack?

And even if he is the better athlete, that means absolutely nothing. Audley Harrison is a better athlete than 90% of all heavyweights, yet he couldn't get past trial horses kind of heavyweights like Danny Williams and Michael Sprott.

It's amazing how many people here, at BOXING FORUM for ****s sake, haven't grown past the thought of an 8 year old who sees someone fight really strong in a movie, so he must be capable of that in a real match. :patsch

i am a former british karate champion and was good with my hands but got to say if up against a champion boxer i would stand little chance, but on the other hand if the boxer had to step into the ring with karate rules then he would be kicked all over the place as your legs are clearly longer than your arms.

I've never seen anything of Lee that says anything about his condition, his looks don't mean much to me. His amateur boxing wasn't very successful as far as I've read.

They are also slower since they have to travel a larger distance. Despite that difference in length the karateka's in a video posted in this thread were unable to keep the boxers at distance.

surely a top level boxer is equivalent to a master in his craft so a bit unfair to put him against a master of another craft using boxing rules. Reckon id beat an expert of chinese spelling in an english spelling competition (just)

The boxer wins period. One thing people are forgetting is even a B class guy like Collazo is still one of the very best in his sport and was a former title holder. Compared to someone with no boxing experience he is very good even great. The only problem Collazo would have is how awkward the MMA master would be and it would probably be for a round or so until he figured out his style then he would quickly KO the MMA master with the first body shot or solid counter landed.
