i think the p4p title would be up for grabs if ricky won, it wouldnt be his outright just yet...he would still have a shot at it of course if he were to then beat jmm and pbf which is about as likely as the israelis and palestinians celebrating christmas at my house but i suppose crazier things have happened.

as far as whether hatton is annoying...i don't mind him so much. i know he's really trying to push this pac fight but that is to be expected so i can live w/ the 3rd person speak and the p4p talk for now

This is what annoys me about boxing though.

In other sports this kinda crap wouldn't be stood for, and the press would never publish it. Just look at the P-4-P top ten. Hatton is what? Tenth? There isn't a snowballs chance in hell that he would jump over every fighter in front of him to grab No.1 if he beat Pac. Its just stupid. Think of all those upsets in boxing history; does the underdog who won automatically assume the greatness of the fighter he beat. No chance:deal

The Marquez and PBF thing you mention would be a different matter, and up for debate if he should beat Pac; that would put Hatton well over-the-top and straight into ATG territory bigtime. But right now he is nowhere near the No.1 spot.

Ninebar likes Ricky Hatton and has done for year's, But ninebar thinks Hatton should shut up talking about p4p Title's and concentrate on the matter at hand.
Ninebar also thinks if Hatton beat's Pacquiao and then beats Marquez then maybe he could entertain the notion that Hatton is p4p no1.
However all of this matters little as ninebar thinks pacquiao will win and ninebar thinks speed kills.:D

i think all this p4p talk from ricky is him not only hyping this fight but hyping his next fight should he win (no sure thing) but he def has a little work to do before he hops over jmm or bhop for p4p #1

D-MAC thinks that Ninebar is just about spot on.

However, although D-Mac hates Hatton's guts he thinks that beating Pac and Marquez back-2-back would be enough for No.1 spot.

Saying that D-MAC believes that Pac will do a number on Hatton, and if Ricky ever ventured into a ring with Mr. Marquez then the damage taken would be even worse than against Pac.

Obviously Ricky beating Pac would not give him P-4-P status in us knowledgeable ESB'ers eyes. If Ricky wins, JMM is numero uno. I think if he did beat Pac it would be down to size difference more than anything and p4p Manny will always be better due to his achievements and ability. In my eyes, for Ricky to be P4P he would need to step up in weight and beat a Welter. Something I cant see happening. Still love Ricky though...

The really annoying factor is that Mayweather senior is only getting him for 4 weeks. That seems pretty lazy in my eyes when you consider he is fighting Manny Pacquiao and not a punchbag. 4 weeks - Khans just had 7 weeks with Roach.

Ricky saying he's fighting for the p4p title is a bit annoying but I see it as promotional more than anything. I'm a bit tired of ******* Nation though too. No way Ricky jumps Hopkins and JMM for #1 if he were to win. Not going to Vegas earlier is not a good idea. I don't think Hatton can break his out-of-ring-habits and it will very likely add to his downfall against another #1 p4p fighter.

That's another reason I cannot see Hatton every being p4p #1. I think the p4p best should be able to move up at least one weight class and achieve something meaningful. He does not have the adaptability.

Doesn't Pac hold the P4P belt and if Hatton wins he gets to keep the P4P belt?

Ricky can't be the man if he beats Pac because he is counting on his size to do it. He's said so himself.

Ummm....did anyone every tell you it's not an actual belt? lol
Non-transferable! Hatton is currently at #8 (which is a bit high for beating feather fisted Pauile).
