He is sitting on a revised contract, not signing or saying anything as the deadline approaches. How things have changed from the night of the Barrett fight.

So Jermain Taylor with Kelly Pavlik was the same in your mind? Any fighter who wants a rematch clause is saying the same thing?

But is it a good idea? IMO it means that the fighter has already accepted losing as an option and if you accept failure it is more likely to come.

This is put in by managers and promoters as good business sense. IF they lose a title, they want first shot at getting it back. They don't want to work their way up the money ladder again. Look at Forrest and Mora. They aren't saying the expect to lose, they are just realizing that in boxing, there is no script. One stupid mistake can cost you. I think you are reading too much into it.

This Haye/Klitschko story is getting really boring now. One minute he's set to fight Vitali then it's Wladimir, now it's nothing.

So i guess Wlad putting in a standard rematch clause that is in almost every championship fight contract is the wrong thing to do....:huh

If David Haye is too scared to fight Clitschko, or vice versa, their Father, James "Lights Out" Toney will fight either one of these chumps, either in the ring, or on the street for free.

The word is that Klitschko wants him to fight big brother if (when) he loses. Thats crap but all of the Klitschko fans will say that its OK because everything Wlad and Vitaly does is OK! Fight a bunch of bums, its OK! Put stupid rematch clauses in just to pad your contract, its OK! Embarrass the sport of boxing, its OK! Damn I miss Lennox Lewis' fights.

Rematch clauses are standard. It doesn't represent anything new.
What is unusual is having a clause in to fight the Champs bigger brother should things go tits up. Which would probably mean giving up any belts already won.
