At 44, the only serious advantage BHop has over Adamek is defence. Adamek's workrate, stamina, plus the fact that he will be the bigger man will probably turn out to be too much for BHop.

Adamek is a brilliant fighter but I don't think he should face Bernard. Bernard Hopkins at Cruiserweight would be quite interesting.

You're assuming that B-hop will be the same fighter at 190+...there are so many variables that are in question here.

Also, Adamek has been very active coming off of wins against 3 quality fighters at 200 lbs: Oneil Bell, Cunningham, and jonathan Banks.

B-hop is coming off of a fight against the middleweight champion. Before that fight, he stunk out the joint against the joe Calzaghe and has lost 3 out of his last 6 fights...not to mention he is 44 years old.

i don't see this fight happening...if B-hop decides to take this fight, he will get knocked out...with Adamek's chin, I don't see him being able to keep Tomasz off of him for 12 rounds.

B-hop will get stopped if he is foolish enough to take this fight at the age of 44.

Adamek is a solid fighter with a lot of intangilbles but he went to the Sam Peter school of defense and that eventually catches up with fighters.

...and while Hopkins isn't a power puncher, he's a sharp and consistent hitter. However, he's moving up in weight to unchartered territory which pses serious questions imo of how he handles the extra weight.

I think it goes to the cards and it will be razor thin either way.

Can you make a poll for this one? Let's see the pulse of ESB for this fight. Thanks.

You're in la la land, which is where grandpa hops will be when he fights Adamek. Get ready for a decapitation and a test of wills.

    :yep:good

I think Hopkins' lead right hand could be the key punch here. Adamek isn't too concerned about taking punches so Hopkins will have success here. However, can he maintain his output and movement throughout 12 rounds with that extra weight?

Adamek's the type of fighter where u can unload the kitchen sink at him but end up in major trouble later in the fight when u slow down and his pressure closes the distance. He got to Dawson late after being dominated for a majority of the rounds. Certainly not out of the question.

Yes, Adamek's defense isn't great but its actually much improved. This isn't your Paul Briggs Adamek. Neutralizing his weaknesses on D is of course his great chin and a potent offensive arsenal. His will to win and persevere through adversity will serve him well against Hopkin's dirty ring tacktics.

It's amazing what a win over Pavlik will do, isn't it? It was a good win for Hops, but Pavlik was in straight jacket all night and is clearly a slow puncher. Adamek is no Pavlik. When it comes to hand speed, power, chin and determination, Adamek is superior to the Ghost.
