Should there be a new weight class in between 175 and 200?

That seems like quite a jump 25 pounds? What about the guys who are suited best at fighting around 185 or so? I know boxing has a lot of weight classes but this just seems silly. What do you think?

    SUPERCRUISER!!!!

nah, not much interest in cruisers as it stands. another weight class+5 new champions would just marginalize the sport even more.

    nope.
i think the upping of the cruiser limit to 200lb was a good idea.

and 175 is to traditional and needs to be left there.

of all the good 175lb`s very few find the transition to cruiser , even though it is far larger weight discrepency than other weight classes a problem.

Mad, I was just thinking this yesterday again, The jump from light heavy to cruiser is too big. If I were a boxer, I would be inbetween light heavy and cruiser, I would have have to pump up to cruiser and I wouldnt want to take a right hand from them! I think super middle should be around 12/7 and light heavy should be 13 stone?

They should sort out the weight classes!

Hell no! There are to many divisions now. We should get rid of a few in my opinion. If we got rid of 154 and 168 for example, 147, 160, and 175 would all be packed full of talent.

Yeah, I always thought that 105, 118, 130, 154, 168 felt a bit weird and out of place.

Imo they should move smw and lhw a bit higher! 170 or 175 and 185 maybe! and then put a Superheavy class in also, then guys like Valuev could fight guys his own size!;)

The division has improved since they moved the lmit to 200lbs, no need for yet another weight class.

    No.

Guys at light heavy ( 175 ) fight around 185.

    Guys at Middle ( 160 ) fight around 170

    Guys at welter ( 147 ) fight around 160.

Its not a 25 pound jump on fight night.

    Boxing needs fewer weight classes.
