A truly special and very underrated fighter, very strong and would only get stronger the longer the fight would go on.

Another things that is overlooked is that he was pure class.... always very respectful towards his opponents and was full of praise when he got his first loss against Gonzalez (a fight i actually thought DM narrowly won... who says you can't get a decision in germany)
Dariusz never complained though and gave Gonzales all his props.

Definitely 1 of my saddest moments seeing DM getting knocked down by Tiozzo... the once iron chinned machine broken down, once again DM was nothing but gracious in defeat.

It is truly a criminal that the fans never got to see RJJ vs DM...... i personally think RJJ would have won it on his natural athletic abilities but jeez if anyone could have walked through hellacious punishment and find that suspect chin it was DM.

DM was a solid fighter. I think hecame from cruiser, and the fact that he was still able to make 175 showed how hard he worked. He had short arms, and a ton of heart. I wish he and Jones had fought at 175. Imo, as much as I loved Roy, DM was stripped of his titles unfairly.

I'd like to add that Michalczewski is Polish not German if someone's confused. He used to fought as German cuz they forced him, if he didn't do that he wouldn't be able to fight big fights. He skipped to Germany, cuz in Poland weren't as good conditions and abilities as abroad to accomplish a success.

No doubt he was a great boxer. Once even Manny Steward said 'it's the best left jab I've ever seen' - there must be a bit of truth in it tho, if Steward thinks so

Roy Jones should've fought DM for the sake of his legacy, DM was the linear champ.

    Central Europe is that better:patsch

More well known then the fighter that was the p4p king for 12 years???:rofl:rofl:patsch

Many of those years Jones was the face of boxing...No need to go into the whole who didnt want to go here or there to fight, because there were many reports that DM wasnt willing to face Jones period..What you fail to understand is Jones likely made 5 or 6 times the money that DM did, and fought infront of huge crowds everytime out. Saying that DM was making enough money not to have to leave and fight the guy that was sitting on top of the boxing world is a biased and blind way of seeing things. The only thing that DM fans have to hold on to is the fact that he was awarded the title of lineral champion dispite not having unified the titles or beatting the man that was the champion..That to is for another topic...

Funny thing is DM fans can only grab hold to the fact that Jones and DM never fought, and they wear that as if its some kind of badge of honor, if his resume wasnt so weak that wouldnt have to be a point pushed so hard...

Newsflash...The American networks had very little interest in showing DM fights for two reasons...1 he fought a brunch of cab drivers and Jones leftovers and had a tough go of it doing so...2 when they tried they ran into problems in dealing with Kohls, They (HBO) tried to show a tape delayed broadcast of DM's fight with Richard Hall as part of the card with Holyfield vs Ruiz....At the last moment Kohls pulled some bull****, and resended the rights, leaving HBO ****ed with open air to fill.

Lastly As big of a star as DM was in Germany/Poland or even all of Europe he wasnt a world wide hit, and a fight between he ans Jones generated very little interest in the States. And with Kohl being so hard to deal with the interest never came...Not saying that it was an excuse for the fight not to happen. But is a huge reason for why the fight never happened.
