Can't see this fight happening. It would be a mismatch and a horrible opponent for Bute at this time. I think Bute is looking for bigger challenges than this.

Yep. alot of posters here who hate Bute saw only the last 20 sec of the fight with Andrade, and they pretend to be objectiv about Bute. Anyway there must be a rematch with Andrade, it would be a great fight.

Brinkley would definitively be a step back for Bute. He's got momentum from is convincing victory over Zuniga.

Would be a step back, but I see Interbox trying to give Bute easy fights to keep him champion as long as possible, and squiz as much money they can out of him. The same story is with Abraham.

What makes you say this? Both have generally taken on the toughest challenges available who are ranked by their sanctioning body, with a couple of gimme fights thrown in. Both have made dangerous fights though. It's not like the Universum fighters or Teiken fighters, where the literally find the weakest opponents possible so they can milk the title forever.

Joppy was a gimme...a celebration after two hard, dangerous fights, but Larsen wouldn't have been...got cancelled...and Andrade definitely wasn't...Zuniga was OK-ish...but given that Green and Lacy and Larsen had refused, and given that Stieglitz was refused by Showtime, it's not like Interbox have only tried to feed him on bums.

If his next opponent is Miranda, then he won't be a gimme either...not for a voluntary defence anyway...and if it's Bika...:scaredas:...that's a Top 5 fighter right there...and then...the winner of Andrade v. Tsypko...so a hard, hard fight...and then...unification, if he's still unbeaten...hardly trying to milk the belt...

    ...

If Butes next fight won't be with Bika,Andrade,Taylor/Forch winner or a top 10 fighter then Interbox will prove they really try to milk the belt.
Don't get me wrong, i'm romanian i love Bute, but i would like to see him fight the best, even if he loses rather then see him winning against easy opposition.

Yap...same here...read the first post in the Bute Battleship Thread and see what my expectations of him were then:

    ...very high expectations...very high indeed...

The best fighter Bute can fight in June is Bika. The second best is Miranda. The third best is Ward. The fourth best is Brinkley. Anything less than Ward is not good enough. Ideally, it will be Bika. :happy

The problem is that it might not be his call, and Interbox chose his opponents.
So Bute will not duck anyone, only Interbox can duck the top opponents.

No way is Brinkley the 4th best guy he could face. Hell, Mendy is more of a challenge than Brinkley.

Not a lot of great choices there, but Brinkley's clearly the worst of the bunch. A fight with Brinkley should only happen if they can't make a deal with anyone else, and I can't see any good reason why Stieglitz or Mendy would turn down the opportunity, at worst.

No...it never works like that...even someone who is with Arum has a choice, whatever they say. Someone like Bute, who has a promoter who is ALL about him, has a huge choice. Intebox would never force Bute to take crappy fights. Bute wants the big fights and Interbox are doing their very best to get them for him. They're doing a very good job. Interbox have the clout to bring anyone outside the champs to Montreal. It seems Bute's also prepared to travel to unify...he's said so, at least...and Interbox are prepared to let him and back him up...

...no indication at all Interbox might be feeding Bute crappy fights to milk him...so far.
