i was thinking this today i think mayweathers defence is more consistent as i feel pea loses concentration more than FMJ but pea has the better defence and movement
pea uses his movement beter and more often though pea is more movement orientated FMJ does the shoulder roll with upper body movmnt more
Reflex defenses - Pea Technical defense - FMJ FMJ can often look like hes getting hit when hes not though
Correction. Floyd has never been hit. He rolls everything. Even when DLH's jab was popping his head back, Floyd was actually just reacting insanely quick as soon as the jab reached within centimeters of his face, pulling back at the last instant to create a jerking effect. It looked as if he was getting tagged, but in reality his shoulder roll was just so godly nothing connected. That's what happens every single time it looks as if he's gotten tagged.
hes been coaught clean precisly 4 times in his career no he odes get hit but not alot, sweet oea who do you think has the better defence
Whitaker has the better and more versatile defense. He also uses it better when incorporating his offense, regardless of what some Floyd supporters will tell you. Floyd does very well countering with uppercuts and straight rights out of the shell, but he can't counter in as wide a variety of ways as Pea can out of his slip n' roll defens. He also creates and controls the distance better with his jab and back-footwork than Mayweather, who is often forced to take too much of a risk against the ropes. He usually fares very well, but against a top notch pressure fighter or puncher, he'd be in over his head. Pea's style was virtually flawless technically, aside from a few hiccups due to his flair.
Mayweather's defense is a great offense. In the early going against Judah, Mayweather was taking hits & he didn't like it. Also with De La Hoya early on. Whitaker fights fast opponents & doesn't get hit, Because he is very good defensivly at slipping, ducking & countering.
Mayweather's been caught cleanly more than 4 times in almost every fight i've watched him in gpater. Any fighter that goes an appreciable distance with an opponent of any worth is usually going to get caught more than 4 times.Even if 90 percent of the time it's just jabs or incidental shots he's getting hit with.
