that maybe true but the cut was legit, roy never got damaged like that before and it was purely becuase joe landed so many punches on his nogen

and i am not a calzaghy fan because i was one of the peeps saying the jones win did not prove anything significant because jones was shot

jones was shot he wouldnt of been able to do anything different, joe was not letting up

I think he mean't to say "because if I wasn't a shot to hell 40yr old ghost, he (Calzaghe) never would have made it 12 rounds." - Roy Jones Jr.

Roy didnt stop Joe because he didnt have it in him.

After the first he took a major slapping for the rest of the fight. Roy from a few years ago maybe... Roy from the night of the fight no chance.

What's wrong with a man having pride. Pride can make you a bit delusional. But Jones hasn't forgotten how great he was.....and there's no crime in that....

Jones lost because Calzaghe clearly outmatched him.

Indeed. Jones didn't have the heart/nerve/guts to fight at all really. Regardless of anything.

I interpret Roy's quote as him basically still not being able to face what we all have know for awhile. That he is just too far past it. I give him credit for not giving up and trying to fight because we know he did not do that in the 3rd Tarver fight where he just wanted to survive. I saw Roy when I was a kid and that's what got me into watching boxing. Personally I think prime Jones vs prime Calzaghe would have been a good fight and not as one-sided as some say. Roy's get the edge of course but neither faced an opponent with same speed at any other time in their career.

Yeah because Calzaghe was 26 years old and in his prime.
