No team Pavlik and Top Rank will pass on this and use the same tired and invalid excuse that King Arthur hasn't established himself stateside, no one knows who he is, and therefore a fight with him is not lucrative enough (though a fight with Mora is?? LOL).

Duddy's next in line for Pavlik I'd be willing to bet on it. The fight with Abraham will most likely never materialize. Arum will always have an excuse. I'm usually the not the type of guy who believes fighters duck other fighters but this is one case I can't dispute.

Like I said in post #4, myau, if Arum declines this offer, which I think was ACTUALLY over 3 million, WHICH, will amount to pavliks biggest payday, WE WILL NEVER SEE THIS FIGHT MATERIALIZE! Honestly as a fan of both fighters, I honestly think Pavlik is not doing the ducking but Arum is:tired

First, you are not a Pavlik fan, and there is no need to lie about it. Other than that, I agree that IF this is a legitimate offer for a fight in the US, the fight should happen. If it's an offer to fight in Germany, Sauerland is just blowing smoke. He knows that won't happen.

Assuming it is a legit offer for a fight in the USA, if Arum does not make it happen, Pavlik will finish out his contract and go elsewhere.

It's clear that Pavlik does not want to get embarrassed for a second time against an elite fighter like he was against old man Hopkins.

i agree that this fight will probably never come to be. and i cannot understand why. pavlik has done extremely well against bangers (zertuche, miranda and so on) abraham is a much better banger, one of the best brawlers in the game, perhaps, but a mauler nonetheless. abraham is no cool, controlled, defensively sound technician and that is the type of fighter that will put a clinic on pavlik every time--see the hopkins fight, and, yes, i know that it wasn't at 160 and that hurt kelly, but the point remains intact. taylor could have done the same thing, to a less severe degree, but chose to hang and bang with kelly and lost. i think pavlik ought to go for the fight with abraham, big money, big risk, his fans will love him in a tough, competitive fight win or lose. that is his legend, if that term can be applied. so he has less to lose than an undefeated champ one loss away from being shunned by his backers--see andre berto. i don't understand why sturm didn't take the abraham fight either. i feel confident that unless he got tagged with a looping shot on the inside, sturm could control the fight behind his jab, exploit his reach advantage to keep the fight at center ring and take an easy decision victory.

using those terms comparing B Hops to Abraham only outlines your inabilities not Kelly Pavliks

I'll concede that it is unfair to compare Abraham to Hopkins... but Abraham would've at least won one round if he fought Hopkins at 170. Pavlik won as many rounds against Hopkins as I did -- he got embarrassed like no prime, undefeated lineal middleweight champion has ever been.

I just watched the relevant portion of Steve Bunce's boxing hour. Kalle Sauerland just regurgitated the same stuff over again. No details about a venue, a time frame, or anything else. He just threw out a random number.

AND THEN he said AA will fight Forrest in the USA this summer.

And guess why he said that? Because he AGREES with Top Rank that they need to raise Arthur's profile in order to make the fight viable.

Not anymore. They don't care now because soon they will get rid of that belt anyway once he'll move up in weight :hey;) So why not (trying to) fight KP?

Once he's entered the SMW ranks he will not go after the ''top'' dog before he fought 5 to 10 top 50 guys.

So I agree with you. But that doesn't make AA a non-ducker:hey

    Good post.

booradley has his head so far up Pavlik's ass, it's a surprise he can see daylight. According to his brilliant logic, Arthur Abraham isn't a top 40 middleweight in the world while guys like Paul Williams (only 1 recent fight at middleweight) and Winky Wright (hasn't fought at middleweight since 2006) are more deserving challengers for Pavlik.

    Delusion is a wonderful thing.

Recognizing Abraham for what he is does not make me biased. I never said Rubio would beat him. I said he could manage a draw, and based on Arthur's performances against guys like Simon and Ayala, a draw certainly would not surprise me.

Furthermore, you started an intentionally misleading thread. You popped off like you had some new revelvation, but there was absolutely nothing new on Steve Bunce's Boxing Hour. The closest thing to new imformation came from Kalle Sauerland saying the reason AA will fight Forrest this summer is because he AGREES with Arum about raising Arthur's profile to make the fight viable.
