We have heard a counter offer from Arum: build AA's name in the USA, that's the first step. They haven't taken that step. Sorry, but a rematch with Miranda on Showtime doesn't cut it, and even Sauerland said as much.

    That's not a counter offer, it's a weasel out.

Pavlik needs to take a leaf out of Mikkel Kessler's book and at least try to agitate his way either into bigger fights or out of his contract.

Yes - But the rub here is that Abraham SHOULD come over to America as his style should endear him to new fans over there and raise his profile. He's as big as he's going to get in Germany and a war with Pavlik in the states will raise his stock globally.

It will be a good fight if it comes off, both fighters will benefit Abraham may not be well known in the states but he is in europe and the fight will sell on european tv.Pavlick may be the bigger name in the states but in Europe maybe his profile is the one that needs raising.

No reason why he shouldn't. Kalle Sauerland said exactly that.

But, if you're looking at it logically, no reason why Pavlik shouldn't have a fight or two in Germany for exactly the same reasons.

Abraham delivers knock outs. That's crowd pleasing. This reminds me a bit of the Wlad argument. Is he boring? Or are knock outs all you need to be exciting?

I guess it comes in the middle. One thing the fans DO want is to see the best go at it. Kelly Pavlik is #1, Arthur Abraham is #1A...that's why we all want to see the fight happen.

Arum says that Abraham needs to build his name in the US. Fine...but that can't be an excuse a year from now. If Abraham beats Forrest in the United States then that excuse can't fly anymore.

Regardless of whether Arum wants to admit it...Pavlik isn't a big PPV draw. You can't hide behind the guise of "Abraham isn't a name" when your guy isn't either.

Ya -- I guess you're right. After all, Arthur turned down Zuniga so he could fight the great Elvyn Ayala, and AA just went 12 rounds with Lujaun Simon; a man with a truly frightening 12 KO's. All Pavlik did was fight a living legend, and beat Taylor twice. Ya, you'r right:patsch

Pavlik fighting an undeserving challenger like Mora is unacceptable. It does nothing for Pavlik's profile or bank account and if he loses to one of these undeserving challengers, his career is over. I'm also not too sure if Abraham can get by Forrest seeing how he had problems against an unexperienced boxer in his last fight. They should have made AA vs Pavlik this summer and stop wasting time. By Arum's reasoning we might have to wait another two years before AA is big enough in the states to fight Pavlik.

End result isn't always an exciting fight because it ended with a KO. When I think fan friendly, I think of a guy willing to mix it up.
