Again it may be touching into the market of what is exciting. the fight or the KO?

Abraham has had some exciting fights in the past so it's not like he's a complete bore. Sides chicks dig the knock out.

    I disagree.

Pavlik is on HBO, his fan base and style is generating plenty of attention in the states and people in Youngstown Ohio certinaly wont be getting on the plane ala Ricky Hatton's fans to fly to Germany to fight in a time zone not suited to the US audience.

I understand the problem with the US-centric focus of the sport, but I think Abraham stands to gain a lot more from going to the US than Pavlik going to Germany.

OK, you aren't sure AA is good enough to get past Forrest, a 154 pounder so you think he should fight Pavlik first? Winner gets Forrest?

What the **** has that got to do with anything? Boxing's not all that popular in the US and is a lot more popular in Germany, the market sizes these days are fairly similar in real terms.

Abraham's style is much more exciting and consistently aggressive than Wlad's.

His chin is considerably more sturdy - Even when it's hanging open.

Well I dont agree with this rubbish that AA needs to raise his profile in the states when Pavlik just thought a nobody in Rubio on PPV. At least AA brings German TV money to the table.

None of my friends in the USA know who Pavlik so maybe he should go on dancing with the stars to raise his own profile.

    :lol::lol:

I didn't mean to compare them as much as their situation. Wlad is considered boring (and I agree) but has exciting KOs. Abraham is considered boring but has exciting KOs (the uppercut against Ayala was brutal).

Just a similar situation is all...not that the fighters are similar.

Pavlik is the recognized champion and there is no reason to go a challenger's country. AA knows this and he's willing to come to the US. Even if AA beats a big name in the US before fighting Pavlik, I still don't think the fight will make that much more money than right now.

Abraham needs to upgrade his profile but during that time Pavlik can fight the Rubios of this world ?

Is Rubio more marketable than Abraham ? NO WAY !
Abraham has made a name for himself in the USA with his fights against Miranda, enough at least to get it on right now with Pavlik.

The problem is that promoters have been successful making you believe certain fights need to be sold more before they can be done.....That's only because TOP RANK isn't too confident of prevailing and they want to make sure they cash in before in case they lose !

WE, as true boxing fans, should never allow this bull**** to take place and back the words of promoters selling us this insanity....Pavlik vs Abraham is the fight to be made right now, just like any other unification in any division !!

The ultimate prize is to be the best of the division and THE ONE who is, will then be a big star...PERIOD !!

I respect your loyalty as a fan to Pavlik but there is no need to be so in the tank and biased.

I am not criticizing Pavlik because I think he is a n excellent fighter but his promoters are being ridiculous by claiming AA needs to raise his profile in the USA but at the same time targeting inferior competition like Duddy.

Were going through a recession and at the end of the day fans will buy PPV if they know the best is fighting the best.

The poster that goes by the handle Tom Tocca is a very good source of "insider" type info on German fighters. He said AA makes about $700K per fight. Here's what I don't get: If Sauerland can come up with multimllion dollar purse for both fighters in Germany, why is he paying Arthur peanuts?

If Simon can give AA problem then so can Forrest but that's not the point. The point is that both AA and Pavlik will be fighting undeserving challengers coming up from 154 instead of unifying against each other.

Biased is in the eye of the beholder I guess. I've said before, Arum has to worry about Pavlik's career. Not just one fight that probably no more than a thousand people world wide REALLY know it is THE fight. He has to sell this fight to a minimum of a quarter million people. That is his job. You want that responsibility? We can sit here and pound keyboards all we want, it isn't our lively hood affected if it fails. There are millions of dollars at stake here.

The only way this makes any sense at all is if they put both fights on the same card, but as of now, that is not the plan. did you vote in my Boycott Pavlik/Mora thread?
