I would lean towards a Lopez decision or even a late stoppage. This would be a nice fight. Azumah Nelson vs Cornelius Boza Edwards
Competitive fight early, but Boza is too hittable, and Nelson's bigger punches eventually bring about a stoppage win. Nelson by TKO 13. Next up: Joe Louis vs. Gene Tunney.
Louis via decision. To the man two above, I think Marcel would comfortably beat Lopez. As much as I am a fan of Little Red (see my profile pic) Marcel was too classy IMO. Arthur Abraham vs. Jermain Taylor
I don't have a problem with you picking Marcel to win, he is certainly capable of beating little red, he is a good fighter in his own right! I will still lean towards Lopez but wouldn't feel comfortable betting on either. Abraham by decision, as taylor does not get active enough in this bout. Abraham 9-3 or 8-4 type decision. He could feasibly KO Taylor, but I don't think Taylor will force the issue enough for that to happen. Carlos Zarate vs Joltin Jeff Chandler (Bantam)
Carlos wears him down and possibly has to come from behind to stop him...Jeff was an excellent speciman in his prime. Jeff Fenech vs Johnny Tapia @ 118.
Zarate in top form should be too much. Will be tight for about ten rounds but Zarae will soften him up eventually with the hooks to the body and head. I envision a late round stoppage or battering that puts Zarate over the line. Billy Graham vs. Luis Manuel Rodriguez.
I like Jeff via close decision. Just think the fight will be fought on his terms more often that not. Johnny will box well and give him fits but the second half will consistently take place along the ropes and that's Jeff's terrain. Now onto Billy vs. Louie
Hmmm....Luis by a whisker. More natural welter, considering his exploits at the higher weights aswell. His body punching and skill level added to the size issue I dont think Billy can tip it in his favour.
I'd probably pick Luis as well but I can just imagine them having great fights like Gavilan-Graham III. Two ultra-skilled guys. Well, let me think up another match up: Buddy McGirt vs. Johnny Saxton (pretend there's no mob involvement).
McGirt takes it...A Ko isnt out of the question but I seem to recall Buddy losing a bit of sting in the move up. Ernesto Marcel vs Kid Chocolate
Ooooh.......I think Kid Chocolate takes it on points, though I wouldn't want to say either way. Don't think either guy would get stopped that's for sure.
Nice one.... Jeez, I'm not too sure here... Could go either way I think. Marcel is probably the more consistent performer and may take it 6 times out of 10, but this is anyone's. Freddie Pendleton vs. Edwin Rosario
My head is saying Rosario would be to quick and skilled...My heart says Freddie could knock Edwin's block clean off. I was watching Pea-Pendleton the other day and man Freddie was a powerhouse at the weight. Inconsistent as all hell but on his day just a nightmare. He has the power to test and quite frankly crack Chapo's whiskers..But more times then not Id take the skills and potent mix of speed & power of Rosario to see him home. Ike Williams vs Eddie Perkins
Freddie on his day was a very good fighter. Good enough to give the likes of Frankie Randall all they could handle and put Roger Mayweather to sleep. Rosario was the more consistent guy, but this is literally a who lands flush first kind of fight. Neither has a chin that's bomb proof, though I think Edwin's was a little sturdier. But if Freddie connects right that's insignificant. All the same, yeah I'd make Edwin the slight favourite but I wouldn't put a dollar on it. I think Ike is too beastly for Perkins and would dominate him down the stretch after a fairly good start by Eddie. I won't say Eddie gets stopped but it's entirely possible. Roger Mayweather vs. Hector Camacho
