Thanks for replying...:good This guy has a bit of a Prescott feel about him, true...and we all know what he did to Khan, but come on...if Vic has to take on a guy who only really has a puncher's chance, then what is the point? If Vic's chin is that much in doubt, then surely, we're overrating him, no? That's why I don't really buy this match-up as much as everyone else seems to... I think Vic's too good to have to prove himself against a guy like this...I'm not saying he should go right for the very top...but isn't this a bit of a cautious match-up dressed up as a real threat, because of the guy's KO record (against very average competition)?:conf I'm repeating myself, but this guy's also been off for a year and a half by the time of this fight!!!
What a bizarre post. Prescott? Khan?? Why would anyone mention them on this thread? Agbeko went 12 rounds in December last year. Where has your claim of an 18-month layoff come from? The WBC champ won't leave Japan, the WBA champ is rematching Sidorenko in Germany, Penalosa is fighting for a 122lb belt while Montiel will only be an interim champ if he wins this weekend. Agbeko is clearly the best available opponent. As for the outcome, at 33, every fight will be tough for Vic from here. Agbeko is dangerous & this is clearly a tough fight first up for him at 118.
My mistake...looked at the wrong column...atsch Still, this guy will have fought three times in two years, with a 15 month lay off between his last two fights, having retired from boxing for a couple of years earlier... Thanks for that...
Did you skip Adamek vs Cunningham? Because Agbeko was on the undercard of that one. He throws a lot of punches and this is stylistically a great match for fans. This is going to be an all-out brawl
This is going to be one of the best fights of the year I can't wait. Vic is a beast but King Kong won't be intimadated by him...I can't wait!
Hasegawa would leave Japan for a Darchynian fight because he wants a big fight in the US, but he's not going to come here and start from scratch- it's just the big fight he wants. My guess is the money's not there for that fight because alot of fans worldwide don't know about him yet, or the risk/reward's not worth pursuing it right now. Either way, I don't blame Vic for not fighting Hasegawa. Agbeko's a stiff test.
Vic will prevail once again. Vic mesmerizing style will be too much for Kong. By the way DECEBAL, dont judge Kong with boxrec cause in africa many boxer record are not comptabilized.
u see this is what im talking about.. U just exposed urself as some clueless dumbo.. " mesmerizing style " ??? yea using those kind of words to describe a fighter is a sign of a novice.. Y dont u try using some more technical boxing term... and what? Vic will be too much for Agbeko??? :rofl Im positive that you've see agbeko fight just once or twice..
Yup just like most people didnt know how great Marquez/Vazquez was going to be back in 07... I remember back then Most posters were busy talking about Adamek/Dawson instead of talking about a great fight like marquez/vasquez.... The threads were literally empty... atsch That's how I know that there aren't really too many true boxing fans on this forum.. Only a true fight fan would know that a fight like Marquez/vazquez and Agbeko/Vic would turn out great.
