As of now I have Ali at #1 and Louis at #2 in my all time heavyweight list. However I have been consedering switching them. I fell they are very equal in boxing abillities/skills with a slight edge to Louis. I tend to beleve that a prime for prime match up would end eather in a late (13th-15th) round stopage win for Louis or 9-6 or 8-7 win for Ali. A draw is also possible. What gives Ali the advantage is that I fell he fought in a much better era than Louis did. I do beleve that if Louis had faced Ali's opoenets he would have beat them as well.
In short Ali is my #1 heavyweight because he was born at the right time.

I do believe louis would get to muhammad ali late...around round 13 or 14 and knock him out, while behind on points.

There is honestly next to nothing separating them in terms of legacy.

I will call it for Louis if pushed but they are 1A and 1B rather than 1 and 2.

I always ranked Louis at 1 and Ali 2, until i come clean with myself and realised i was only doing so because of a personal preference. Since then they switched, Ali number 1 for me.

Muhammad Ali and I don't think it's close, in terms of best wins or H2H.

If you look at this without bias, there are people picking Louis and there are people picking Ali. The people picking Louis are all saying 'but it's very close', and some of the people are saing Ali and saying its not close. Now lets be objective withough any bias, if someone says its Louis and its not close they will gt salughtere here, you need to add the close factor to your choice for it to be justifiable. Its possible for people to get away with saying Ali and its not close enough to quite merit Louis being above him.

Just trying to pot the debate into context here.
