yep, there's certainly no soft mid-drift there from Cordoba, he looks in cracking shape and I don't think I've ever seen so much definition on Dunne's stomach, his arms look bigger aswell so the muscle has certainly been added alright. We have had 3 World title challenges from Irish fighters this millenium(by my count), two from McCullough and one from Damaen Kelly. However despite both fighters probably being better fighters than Dunne(in their prime anyway) this probably is a bigger night considering it's in Ireland and the undercard that's with it.
Thanks had forgotten that one, Sinclair floored Santos once but was put down twice himself and out classed. It came too early in his career and his chin let him down a bit aswell. I'm not concerned with Sipos being heavier. He's naturally the smaller man anyway(having moved up from Light-Middleweight) so I'm not convinced it'll even be beneficial considering Lee has weighed in 2 lbs above the Middleweight limit himself.
Did anyone read Boxing News today. There's an add in page 25 about a boxing promotion in Salthill on the 18th April. This show will be promoted by Southpaw Promotions, an outfit run by Francie Barrett and Keith walker. Francie's cousin Coleman is making his return to the ring after 4yrs out. Declan Timlin, John Waldron, Colm Keene[a undefeated Galway lightheavy making a comeback after 8yrs] and Danny Reynolds are all on the card also. I hope it is well supported. Good luck to Southpaw Promotions.
Yeah, good luck to them. The Cork show or this show is not in Boxrec, people should keep those feckers informed whats going on in this country.atsch
If you register with boxrec forum anyone can go into the schduling section and tell them all the details and they will put it up.
Lads I'm nervous as ****. I feel a bit better because you (all reliable men) feel that Dunne is ok. Personally I think there was a bit of an emaciated DLH -v- PacMan look about his midriff. Anyway, I'm up in the 02 bar tomorrow from half 7. I won't go out for any other fights. My nerves are shot to ****. Any way we can get the ESB Irish Fourm boys together
I was there and Cordobo looked genuinely Ethiopian. But what a reach when he stretched out his arms :-( Dunne looked good, I think the whole Dunne 'doesn't look too bad' comes from the fact that it just doesn't seem right seeing such a fella so skinny. He looked sharp around the midriff and I wouldn't agree with 'emaciated' at all. But as he said himself today, 'I can't believe so many of you turned up today to see a skinny fella like me weigh in' And Napa lost, sorry Paulie http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12183_5079069,00.html
I'm leaving Belfast about 12.30 with a couple of mates. When I get to Dublin, I plan to find a bar so I can watch the rugby, Ireland V Wales game. When the rugby is finished we will make our way to the arena. It will be virtually impossible to meet up with anyone as I haven't a clue what anyone looks like expect bambam who will obviously be the most nervous looking bloke in the place. So bambam I will happily buy you a drink[I wont be drinking as I'm the designated driver, plus I'm off the stuff for lent]. So lads whether Dunne wins or not savour the occasion and hopefully you will have a fond story to pass onto your children or grandchildren about the night you watched a small skinny kid from Neilstown, Dublin defy the odds and become champion of the world.
