After watching footage of past Juan Carlos Gomez fights..I'm ready to predict that Gomez is gonna defeat Vitali Klitschko by UD as long as the judges in Germany are honest. I know that a lot of you guys are Klitschko supporters and keep bringing up the fact that Vitali destroyed Sam Peter..big Deal!!!..Sam Peter was tailor made for Vitali's comeback..he's short..out of shape..slow and was right there for Klitschko to hit all night.
Now Gomez on the other hand has without a doubt the skills and style to defeat klitschko and make him look bad doing it. and as far as some of you guys who were upset with ESPN for changing networks for the fight from Regular ESPN to ESPN Classics...relax!!..The change was because of Issues on the the German T.V. side and the fact that the fight was pushed back an hour later. ESPN had no choice but to do what they did because of other programing they had scheduled for that hour..The bottom line is that we still are gonna get to see a World Heayweight Championship fight on non-premium Cable!! and I guarantee that after Gomez pulls off the upset that both HBO and Showtime will be kicking themselves for passing up on the fight.

    Could happen..probably wont though.

I think its a decent chance but I also think Vitali could win so easily we might be thinking why we ever thought that.

It would be the best thing to happen in the Heavyweight Division in a while..it would probably send Vitali back into retirement and it would also open things up in the Division..We could possibly see Gomez fight guys like Haye..Arreola and hopefully Wladimir Klitchko in a unification fight.

Or not..we could just as easily see him go for an easy defense come in out of shape and get knocked out. Probably setting the division back another year waiting for another established titlist.

Gomez was excellent at cruiser..ok and still awkward at heavy but I dont think he will have much longevity from this point.

Vitali will knock him out, I don't give Gomez any chance in this one. Even during the weigh-in he didn't seem to come in the shape he's supposed to which is a sign that he knows he has zero chance.

    Gomez weighs approx. 224-226 lbs.

I read his latest interview and think he's the hungrier man.
He had no chance to visit his family for 4 years and reading this interview shows me that he's all about Cuba and his family there.
The chance to fly over there presenting the green WBC belt to get entrance to Cuba is a great and big motivation plus he's about bankrupt, has nothing.

Considering those desperate circumstances for the Cuban, I really think he can pull it of and as he said enclosing in that interview "I had no dicipline, but I'm refined. Now I have the chance to win everything. Vitali has everything, I got nothing. I know that he's a big lump of a man, but he's not unbeatable. He's only a man with 2 fists, same as myself. My 7 children would be thankful..."

Look at the shape of Johnson, Sanders, Williams, Peter...no one was ever in top shape to get it on with Vitali - problem is, this time he has a man in front of him who is!

I have seen Gomez live vs. McCall for their rematch and he outboxed him beautifully for 8 rounds and back then he had issues with his stamina.

The key for Gomez to make it a decent, competative fight is his stamina. If his condition coach Moritz Klatten has really got him into the shap he says, it will be!

I've been looking for this match-up for years, and I put some money on Gomez. Ridiculous odds, impossible to pass over this one.

    Go JCG!

A skilled and experienced boxer with speed always has a chance, assuming he's trained properly. But my question is: how is Gomez going to get out of the way of Vitali's jab, and jab/hook? His footwork is going to have to be flawless to survive to the final bell.
