Forget Mr Fury, this guy's knockout last night on Friday Fight Night was brutal!!! 4 wins, 4 KO's albeit against cans (as it should be, although last night the guy had a 3-3-1 record...) Looks quick, and has good power...technique needs a lot of work(defensivley especially), but in his interview he addressed this, and seemed a humble nice guy.... In 7 or 8 fights time put Larry in with Mr Fury...could be VERY interesting!!! I havent seen Fury annihalate one of his Cans like Larry did last night!!
He's already 30 though, I know this isn't big issue that it was say 10-15 years ago but he still needs to get a move on.
Valid Point, but if he works his ass off, he should fight 8-12 fights a year....this means by the beginning of 2011 he should have 16-24 fights under his belt and we should know whether he will go the british, euro, or even world route - he would only be 32-33 at that point. If Rogan can do it starting at 32...and really not picking up and doing anything till last year at 36, then Larry has a lot of hope. Age isn't that huge a deal....If you are good your good!!!
Depending on the fighter I thing age can be a big deal but the heavies seem to have a lot less issues in this area. Skelton also started late and has achieved a hell of a lot. Any idea why this guy started so late?
Just goes to show what bollocks itv talk when they try to kid us fury has power. he aint doing that to nobody! that was brutal.
His stature is frightening. I wouldn't like to look across the ring and see this guy in the opposite corner. His arms are like damn tree trunks! I'll be interested to see how he fairs over 8 rounds against somebody durable, and whether he carries his power late. Stamina is a big question. He does some things horribly technically. His jab is nice enough, but when he follows over the top with a right cross he leans his whole body backwards and his chin is facing the moon. It's really exagerrated and could be costly. Interesting prospect anyway, don't see that Fury is any better than this guy.
I've seen 3 or 4 of his fights. I like his attitude in his interviews, doesn't bang on about his power but rather addresses the areas he feels need working on. His physique may be a detriment down the line (ala Frank Bruno) and he may be too musclebound, but I hope not. Whatever happens, I'm pretty sure he'll make a very exciting addition to the British heavyweight scene. Tyson Fury is only mentioned time and time again because Hennessy are doing a fantastic job promoting him - getting his name everywhere and getting people talking about him. However for me the jury's still out on him, and on the prospect list I would put him below Olubamiwo and Chisora.
he reminds me of that k1 mma fighter, the ex NFL player Bob sapp the ko last night was brutal, he will be outboxed easily enough but when he lands there is gonna be trouble, imagine this guy landing flush on fury
If he's got Bob Sapp's stamina and durability, then he's in for a short career. I hope he's better than that.
very true, his physique is one of a body builder he said after the fight he could of fought at that pace for 8 rounds
He already called Fury out. Tyson then called his bluff and said he'd fight him, and Larry said he ment they should fight in 18 months to 2 years time. He wants nothing to do with Tyson Fury.
