everyone who has watched footage of JCG recognizes that he is a good heavyweight. I'm glad that people realize that this is actually a really good fight.

credit to the winner no matter who it is. I think Vitali will keep Gomez on the end of his jab and that awkward left hook with an occasional right hand and win a wide decision.

You're right. He made him quit on his stool, without injury I might add. I think that's worse. The record books will still show a TKO win for Vitali.

    Some thoughts:

    1. Nobody said that Sam Peter was tailor made for Vitali before the fight. He was generally perceived as the second best heavyweight. Personally I thought Peter would win.

    2. You refer to the past fights of Gomez but fail to indicate that Gomez at 35 is not in his prime anymore.

    3. IMO Gomez does have the style to make the fight interesting for 7-8 but Vitali will eventually take over.

    4. Gomez is looking in good shape but not in very impressive shape. He must be in very impressive shape to defeat Vitali.

    I agree.
Also, it may not even be competative.

It all depends on how he deals with the famous "HARD RIGHT BY KLITSCHKO!!".

Thats just a nice way to say the fighter quit.Everybody that watched the fight seen Peter telling his corner he didnt want anymore. It looked like his corner were suprised and unsure what he said and asked him again.Thats when Peter started shaking his head to make it clear. If the corner and Peter were on the same page, they could have made it look like the corner stopped it,saving Peter the embarasment and humiliation.Very unprofessional of Peters corner not to pick up on Peters situation sooner.i

Gomez might be a former cruiserweight who lost a fight to Diaz back in 2004 but he is also the best Fighter outside of Lennox Lewis that he'll face as a professional..I think that Gomez will outbox him and beat him on points..unless of course one of those thunderous right hands put him to sleep which I doubt.

Well, Gomez did what he can. Vitali is just a machine and JC offered little slickness tonight. But he has a big heart and never stopped trying. Deserves the payday he got.

This did happen, after Gomez woke up from a hard right hand by Klitschko!!
