The 80s was supposedly said as the last great era in boxing. The 80s were memorable by boxing's big four/ kings: Duran, Hagler, Hearns, and Leonard. Just out of curiosity, who do you think our big four for this generation/ decade are and do you think the 80s was really the last great era? Feel free to give your big four for the 90s as well. The reason I ask is because the 90s had some remarkable boxers that overlapped into the 21st century. Nowadays there are a plethora of great boxers lingering around but can't really understand if it will ever compare or surpass the 80s.

pls no flame on this thread... just pure simple boxing collaboration from peeps that know the sport.

    Absolutely.

Shame they weren't all fighting one another during their respective primes, however.

I think Hopkins has done more extrodinary work than Mayweather.
    Pacquiao is obviously a lock.
Morales only gets included if Barrera is also included, in my opinion.
Marquez is becoming a little overrated, he still doesn't have a signature win.

the fab four all fought each other, while Mayweather never fought any of those other three you mentioned.

it doesnt make sense to have him there.
