A 44-year-old former mw champion who jumps 25lbs to win the cruiserweight title by beating the best fighter in the division, and in doing so becomes a 3-weight world champion...

    ...the stuff of legend?

    hmmm thats a good question.

Also depends on pac hatton result for me

If hops clinches and pot shots his way to close or split decision and pac beats hatton decisively i would have pac no 1. if he schools adamek to a clear but even close ud i'd have to make hops no1. KO no doubt about it.

tho i currently have JMM as a slight no1 as i give him 2nd pac fight

I have Pac and JMM around equal position just now. If Pac beats Hatton, he goes out in front. But I just think a Hopkins win over Adamek would be ABSOLUTELY MONUMENTAL!

Even "if" pac beats cotto or mosley? RJJ did become a heavyweight titleholder.but yes it would be because of BHOP's age and resume.:happy

Not if Pac beats Hatton..but at the same time I reckon you have an argument for Nard being there.

If he beats Adamek, especially in convincing fashion, it would be a gigantic win. But I dont want people to get to carried to away with it, which they more then likely will...Whilst being a huge win, you have to remember the kind of fighter Tomasz is.

aye thats pretty much what i was trying to say, just adding the caveat that if pac is impressive against hatton and hops wins by out thinking adamek to a close one i would still slightly favour pac, tho i think it would give bhops atg status a decent lift!

I rank Bernard as one of the all time greats right now.

I'm not much into lb4lb lists as their criteria are not widely agreed upon and the ranking is somewhat subjective.

I currently rank Pac at the front of the pack in terms of greatness (accomplishment, skill level etc).

However, if Bernard were to beat Adamek (unlikely), I would move him to the number 1 spot, regardless of how Pac/Hatton turned out.

It would be a third title (spanning four divisions) over 'the man' at 200.

And at 44, over a prime Adamek, that would be superior to Pac's accomplishments.

If Nard beats Adamek I will absolutely have him at #1 regardless of Pac/Hatton. It would be an insane achievement.

    I currently have it

    #1 Marquez
    #2 Pac
    #3 Nard

    If Pac beats Hatton

    #1 Pac
    #2 Marquez
    #3 Nard

But if Pac beats Hatton and Nard beats Adamek

    #1 Nard
    #2 Pac
    #3 Marquez

Then pending whatever Marquez does....the top 3 spots and interchangeable at anytime IMO

yeah i can dig your little timeline here but i think if there is a big enough disparity in perfomance pac could still just hold onto number 1, anything decisive bhop would have to go numero uno

If Pacquiao beats Hatton, I would still have him at #1 even if Hopkins defeats Adamek, although I'd move Hopkins above JMM.

I do think a win over Adamek for Hopkins is a more impressive achievement than a win for Pacquiao over Hatton, but Pac's recent success overall in the past few years is better than Hopkins', and he's still in his prime, where as Hopkins has shown vulnerability at this stage of his career to certain style problems that both Calzaghe and Taylor presented him with.

Going up to cruiser, at Bernard's age, would be some achievement no doubt, but personally I'm not sure how good Adamek really is. He seems to get an awful lot of plaudits on here. I think a large part of that may be because of where he's taken up residence.

I see Adamek as an OK, decentish, fighter, but I'm yet to see anything that's really convinced me of him being that special. I'd say I was more impressed with say Jaun Diaz as a fighter - to be honest.

If Pac beats Hatton he definitely stays at no1, imo.

That's not to say that Bernard going up to Cruiser and winning would not be some achievement.

Hatton is currently rated higher p4p wise than Adamek and is a top ten ranked fighter (with Ring, like it or not). Hatton is a far more established boxer at the weight he is fighting Pac, being the man there for several years - and beating the main man there before him. Hatton has greater wins than Ademek, who has only ever made one title defence at Cruiser. It is possbile Haye would still be the man there had he not moved to HW.

The things favourable to Bernard beating Adamek, over Pac/Hatton, is the big jump to cruiser and the fact Bernard is doing it at 44 years old (should sentiment really play a part?).

Pac has done his fair bit of weight jumping though recently too.

Personally I'd fancy Hopkins to beat Adamek, perhaps more so than Pac to beat Hatton.
